I keep putting off writing this review because I want to write a review that gives this practice justice, but honestly, I don't have words for how positively this has changed my life. I am recovering from many years' worth of injuries from various sources, along with no small amount of trauma-based pain, and not only has Dr. Maxson's treatment offered relief and genuine recovery of a type I hadn't thought possible (including relief from pain I had grown so accustomed to I'd forgotten it was even there), but his explanations of the NUCCA process and what is going on with me before and after adjustments helps demystify a lot of what I had previously found overwhelming. When I lived in California I discovered the NUCCA chiropractic technique. It was the answer to my years of suffering because it addressed the true source of pain - a misalignment of my upper cervical bones and especially the axis. This one tiny bone can throw your entire body off, putting the shoulders out of place, your hips out of place and even making one leg seem longer than the other. Anyway, I hadn’t had any issues in years but recently things went wonky so I needed to find a new NUCCA doctor now that I was living in Florida. Not remembering exactly what technique I had, I found another upper cervical doc who uses a machine to adjust the atlas. Even after 3 visits, they left me in worse shape than when I started. Let me tell you….adjustments to the axis by a machine is not the same as axis adjustments made by a highly trained NUCCA doc. And the NUCCA docs are so well trained that you can literally visit another NUCCA doc and get about a 96% consistency rate of treatment. I learned that no other profession has that high a rate of consistency. I am so thankful I found Dr. Maxson and his practice. On the very first visit he straightened me right out and I no longer feel crooked! Turns out he is trained in other modalities as well so you will get superior care from him no matter what you need. I love going there. He and his wife are so friendly and welcoming. And the office is super clean and aesthetic. It is such a good vibe. The best part of all? I decided to get a free spinal scan from Dr. Maxson at a local market. In talking with him for 10 minutes and the questions he asked, I knew that he might be able to relieve a nerve pain I've had and tried to manage for 12 years. I'm right handed but have had to move a majority of basic tasks (like opening doors, eating with a fork) to my left hand because of the pain. After my assessment, my spine was not looking great but he assured me that it was correctable because of my age. In our second adjustment he relieved a crushing pressure in my neck that I'd been feeling for months in an instant. I walked out thinking if that's he can fix then I'm forever grateful. We're a little over 2 months into our treatment and I've experienced an increase in how much I can use my right hand again, a decrease in my neck pain and back pain. For the first time in 12 years I feel that I can get my life back and not limit my activities because of the pain it causes. The office is very warm and welcoming. I’m so incredibly happy I came across Dr. Maxson and his wife Ruth at a local market! I’m feeling 100x better than I did when I initially started receiving services 6 weeks ago. I knew I needed help as my body was feeling extremely off. This is what I was experiencing: 1. My right leg felt longer than my left 2. I had a slight head tilt 3. When sitting one glute felt disengaged as if my sit bone wasn’t making contact with the chair 4. My jaw had all kinds of complications (grinding, tightness, and unevenness) 5. I was unable to move my neck in a full circle due to tension through the right side of my neck and upper back Dr. Max did an initial intake to determine what was going on with me and I had waaayyy more issues than even I anticipated. He walked me through all the technical jargon and showed me visuals of what was going on with my spine, but most importantly, he gave me information that my last chiropractor neglected to - that my inverted spine at my neck would eventually fuse or pinch to a point of no return, but with care I could reverse it. We then discussed what my care plan would look like, my financial investment and time commitment. At no point did I feel pressured to sign up or as of I was being “sold” on anything. My overall feeling has been and continues to be that Dr. Max truly loves his craft and really knows his stuff. He simply wants to see you improve and find a balance (the alignment) your body deserves. And Ruth, his wife who I mentioned earlier, supports in managing their family run business and the front desk. I always enjoy her warm welcome and kind energy when I walk into their space.
