We had an awesome experience with Reel Escapes Hawaii and would absolutely recommend them.From the moment we stepped on the boat, the captain and first mate were friendly, welcoming, and clearly knew what they were doing. They were upfront and honest that the bite might be slow that day, which we really appreciated, but they still worked hard the entire trip to give us the best chance at fish. Even with the slower conditions, we ended up landing a short bill spearfish, which was an unforgettable highlight.Beyond the catch, the crew created a relaxed, fun atmosphere and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable the entire time, including those who don’t fish often. The boat was clean, organized, and well-equipped, and you could tell they take pride in both their gear and their guest experience. The combination of honest expectations, great attitudes, and a memorable catch made this charter one of the best parts of our trip.We’d gladly go out with Reel Escapes Hawaii again and highly recommend them to any families looking for a great day on the water in Kailua-Kona.

My wife and I had another AWESOME day fishing with Reel Escapes Hawaii. This is the 3rd time that we've either been fishing or doing the manta thing with the Reel Escapes team. They never disappoint and go out of their way to make your trip special. This is our second trip with Captain Dean who is really excellent. Clayton, our mate today, is a great guy as well. Both of them are very professional and friendly making for a fun and enjoyable day on the water. It was made even more special when we caught a beautiful short nose spearfish!! Great time with a great crew on a great boat....no better way to spend the day in Hawaii!We could not recommend the Reel Escapes team more and will continue to book with them every time that we are in Kona. They are truly a real special group of folks who take great care of their clients.

These guys are awesome! We had such a blast on the boat with them! A must know is that you won’t hook a fish immediately! It takes time and patience. We hooked a massive Ono after 4 hours and it was a Beaut!!! Logan carved this bad boy up like butter and it made some amazing tacos!!! A must book if you’re trying to go deep sea fishing! Will book with these guys again in the future.

Fishing was great! Staff and captain made my family feel like they were part of the crew. They were charismatic and all around fun to hang with. They educated us on everything Kona fishing and also even recommended other cool things to do on Hawaii. WHEN I come back I’ll be fishing with Reel Escape. Captain Brent and TJ are awesome.

Great fishing charter - highly recommend! Captain Brent and his first mate Ian were fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We spent several hours on the water and then had the amazing luck of catching a Marlin near the end of our time. Watching Captain Brent and Ian work their magic with maneuvering the boat and coaching our 16YO son in the chair to bring in the Marlin was really cool. A family experience we will never forget!

Absolutely amazing and the best out there! Im local so i have a good grasp on the local charters. This company is stellar! Brent and ian are absolutely awesome and so kind. Within 4 hours we had 2 marlin that escaped due to the fact i stopped reeling for a moment ao my fault. However we also landed 4 mahi and 2 ono in this time as well. You will not get those results anywhere, Of course its luck of the draw. I will be booking more often in the future and i hope he stays around, I cant recommend reel escapes enough. Brent also took time to fillet all fish for us and store in ziplock bags. Its cheaper to charter than to buy a boat and provide maintenance and i dont have to clean boat or fillet fish. I just have to show up lol. When you factor all that in, the price is bare bones.

We did an 8 hour charter with Captain Brent and deckhand Ian on March 24th. Right from the time we stepped on the boat they made us feel comfortable and ensured we knew all the safety protocols before we set sail. Both were really knowledgeable and personable, getting to know them was half the experience. The expectations on what may or may not happen was set right up they were very honest which was refreshing. At the end of the day we caught a beautiful striped Marlin. Thank you Brent and Ian for making these 2 Canadians experience in Kona a memorable one. Will definitely be sharing this with everyone back home and recommend to anyone looking for a deep sea fishing trip while on the big island.

Easily the best fishing charter I've ever been on! Booking was super easy, and Captain Brent called only a few minutes after to answer any questions and describe the trip. Captain Brent and Deckhand Clayton are both incredibly knowledgeable about Hawaiian pelagic fishing and are phenomenal company; we loved getting to know them both. Clayton efficiently explained how to reel in the fish in great detail so we felt well prepared. Clayton and Brent were also extremely helpful while reeling in the fish, providing great advice and stepping in to help. My dad and I caught 2 Shortbill Spearfish and a Pacific Blue Marlin, making the trip an experience to remember for a lifetime and an intense workout. Highly recommend this trip!
