We recently did the Manta Ray Excursion and it was incredible. Reel Escapes goes out earlier than most boats, which allowed us to do some snorkeling before sunset and the mantas. Such a great experience! I’ve done this manta tour with another company before and it was so much better with Reel Escapes. We went out before sunset and got to our manta spot while there was still light so we got to snorkel before. We also saw a Hawaiian Monk Seal! After being told it’s normal to see 1-3 mantas at a time, it was a treat that we got to see about 10 different ones the night we went! Reel escapes really knows the good spots, and made sure to take care of all the guests!

The manta ray excursion was one of the coolest things I’ve done! We got to see lots of sea life on the boat ride to the cove and during the pre-snorkel. It was nice seeing the sunset from the boat and getting a feel for the water before it got dark. We saw many mantas and it was a surreal experience.

Great day on the water with Reel Escapes!!! Captain Brent is super knowledgeable and ensures that the trips goes smoothly as possible. Deckhand Logan was informative in making sure I was prepared to be in the fighting chair for a when a fish bit! Both crew and captain are all around great people to spend the day with on the water! I was lucky enough to hook up into my first blue marlin all thanks to them! Could not recommend Reel Escapes enough!!!!

My fishing trip aboard the A'u Nui with Reel Escapes out of Kona was a fantastic experience. While the fishing was a little slow that day, we were fortunate to catch a Giant Trevally and a short-billed spearfish, which made for an exciting trip.The captain and crew were outstanding—professional, hardworking, and committed to giving us the best opportunity to find fish. They stayed engaged throughout the day, constantly working different areas and keeping lines in the water. Even during the slower periods, they kept the atmosphere fun and shared their knowledge of Kona's unique fishery.The A'u Nui was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, making for an enjoyable day on the water. Beyond the fishing itself, the scenery and experience of being offshore in Hawaii were unforgettable.Not every fishing trip is about filling the boat, and I appreciated the crew's effort, honesty, and positive attitude from start to finish. My wife and I had another AWESOME day fishing with Reel Escapes Hawaii. This is the 3rd time that we've either been fishing or doing the manta thing with the Reel Escapes team. They never disappoint and go out of their way to make your trip special. This is our second trip with Captain Dean who is really excellent. Clayton, our mate today, is a great guy as well. Both of them are very professional and friendly making for a fun and enjoyable day on the water. It was made even more special when we caught a beautiful short nose spearfish!! Great time with a great crew on a great boat....no better way to spend the day in Hawaii!We could not recommend the Reel Escapes team more and will continue to book with them every time that we are in Kona. These guys are awesome! We had such a blast on the boat with them! A must know is that you won’t hook a fish immediately! It takes time and patience. We hooked a massive Ono after 4 hours and it was a Beaut!!! Logan carved this bad boy up like butter and it made some amazing tacos!!! A must book if you’re trying to go deep sea fishing! Fishing was great! Staff and captain made my family feel like they were part of the crew. They were charismatic and all around fun to hang with. Great fishing charter - highly recommend! Captain Brent and his first mate Ian were fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We spent several hours on the water and then had the amazing luck of catching a Marlin near the end of our time. Watching Captain Brent and Ian work their magic with maneuvering the boat and coaching our 16YO son in the chair to bring in the Marlin was really cool. A family experience we will never forget!

Absolutely amazing and the best out there! Im local so i have a good grasp on the local charters. This company is stellar! Brent and ian are absolutely awesome and so kind. Within 4 hours we had 2 marlin that escaped due to the fact i stopped reeling for a moment ao my fault. However we also landed 4 mahi and 2 ono in this time as well. You will not get those results anywhere, Of course its luck of the draw. I will be booking more often in the future and i hope he stays around, I cant recommend reel escapes enough. Brent also took time to fillet all fish for us and store in ziplock bags. Its cheaper to charter than to buy a boat and provide maintenance and i dont have to clean boat or fillet fish. I just have to show up lol. When you factor all that in, the price is bare bones.

We did an 8 hour charter with Captain Brent and deckhand Ian on March 24th. Right from the time we stepped on the boat they made us feel comfortable and ensured we knew all the safety protocols before we set sail. Both were really knowledgeable and personable, getting to know them was half the experience. The expectations on what may or may not happen was set right up they were very honest which was refreshing. At the end of the day we caught a beautiful striped Marlin. Thank you Brent and Ian for making these 2 Canadians experience in Kona a memorable one. Will definitely be sharing this with everyone back home and recommend to anyone looking for a deep sea fishing trip while on the big island.

Great fishing charter outfit here in Kailua-Kona. Went out with Dean and Logan on a 6 hour trip, and they worked hard to try and get us on some fish. Living here on Island, we will certainly be back again soon with these guys!
