I want to take a moment to recognize someone at Advanced Medical Center in Port Orange who truly deserves some appreciation: Derek!Every time my son is sick or needs medical attention, we’re fortunate enough to have Derek involved in his care, and I cannot say enough about the way he interacts with children.Derek takes his job seriously, and it shows in the smallest details. Whether he’s checking vitals, explaining a procedure, or simply talking with my son about what may or may not be going on, he makes a point to include him in the conversation. He explains every step in a way my son can understand, answers his questions, and somehow manages to turn what could be an intimidating experience into an opportunity to learn something.As a parent, I cannot express how much I value that. He doesn’t just talk to me about my child; he talks to my child, treating him like an actual person who deserves to understand what’s happening with his own body. That level of patience, respect, and consideration makes such a difference. My son stays engaged, his nerves settle, and he feels comfortable asking questions.It’s easy to overlook how much of an impact one person can have during an ordinary medical visit, especially when working with children. But I notice. And I appreciate it tremendously.Derek is a wonderful example of what patient-centered care should look like, regardless of the patient’s age. Advanced Medical Center is lucky to have someone who takes such genuine pride in what he does, and we’re lucky to have him caring for our son.Thank you, Derek, for consistently going above and beyond. From the check in process, to the medical assistants, surgical nursing, anesthesia, and doctor this was a wonderful experience. Everyone was kind and caring and made me feel at ease. I would absolutely recommend them for GI concerns and care.

I was scheduled for a colonoscopy here and the staff was extremely professional, caring and thorough in my procedure. It was delayed due to Spectrum’s internet interruption but all went well and everyone I met was very friendly and kind to me. They explained the process and kept me calm during the very necessary exam.

I’ve been coming to this urgent care for years. Some days this is no wait some days there is an hour wait but either way it’s quicker than sitting at the ER. All the drs are nice and I feel like they listen to any concerns I have.

Thank you to the team at Advanced Urgent Care. My experience was exceptional. The facility was clean and organized. The receptionist, Julie, was welcoming and friendly. Derek was. personable, efficient, and extremely helpful. He was familiar with the local pharmacies, informative, and lightened up the circumstance with his humor. Ann had wonderful bedside manner, communicated clearly my diagnosis, and was extremely knowledgeable. I truly appreciate her expertise. Thank you for the wonderful care and professionalism. I’m amazed how responsible and efficient the staff is. I only went to the facility once and met with Dr Neubert, who is definitely a highly qualified, experienced and thorough doctor, but I had a few communications by phone, and every time all my concerns were handled smoothly. That type of care doesn’t happen often nowadays.

After my MD retired, I was going to another one in a big system for a while. Finally got fed up with not being heard, by most doctors my whole life.Thought I'd give this place a try. I've been going for 3 months now. Had an initial appointment, an annual wellness, and one urgent care visit. So far, so good. Appointments are easy to get, didn't have to wait months. All the staff has been friendly.The NP, Vickie, that I see has been awesome. Thorough, and addresses each of my concerns. She has been on top of things my MDs for the last 15 years have brushed off.One of the referrals she made for me, it's truly changing my life. Been brushed off for too long, even told "You just need a vacation".(!!!) The specialist is treating what should have been properly treated long ago.Other labs, imaging, consults/referrals were ordered, proper and thorough.It's not an ultra-modern looking place, but it's clean. I'm not there for looks.It's handy that the family practice and urgent care are in the same place. I went in for urgent care once and was lucky enough to have my same NP for that. It was relatively quick, considered how some urgent cares can take forever.Of note, some reviews complained about waiting when no one else is there. An empty waiting room doesn't mean nobody is there. You have no idea how many people are in exam rooms.One example is that newer emergency vet in South Daytona. Spacious, nearly empty waiting area, yet they're about full of sick/injured pets.

Dr Hemaiden and his team are absolutely wonderful. The office staff worked quickly to get records and I was scheduled for a colonoscopy/EGD within the week. Dr Hemaiden is so pleasant and listened to my concerns. He is a great doctor!

Vicki Sorrell, Derrick and front desk were so professional. I originally went in to Urgent Care. Ms. Sorrell examined me and said, you need to go to the emergency room immediately. I had been ill for 2 weeks and was very dehydrated and a fever. She gave me directions and was so caring. I went to ER and was given fluids, antibiotics and Ct scan. I was diagnosed with colitis. After a couple days I started feeling better. I am now Ms. Sorrell’s patient and am so grateful she is my Nurse Practitioner. In all my 62 years; I have never felt so good about the care that was shown for me for both of my visits. I highly recommend Ms.Vicky Sorrell, and the staff at Advanced Medical Center. Cathy Maher

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Newbert and the entire staff during my colonoscopy procedure. Tanya, Michael, and Kaylee were all incredibly kind, patient, professional, and caring from start to finish. They made me feel comfortable and well taken care of every step of the way.Dr. Newbert was very professional, knowledgeable, and reassuring, which made the whole experience much easier. The office and facility were extremely clean and organized, and the level of care I received was outstanding.The anesthesiologist was also wonderful. Unfortunately, I missed her name, but she was excellent at her job, and I’m very grateful for her care. She made sure I was perfectly medicated — not overmedicated or undermedicated — and I felt completely comfortable and safe throughout the procedure.I truly appreciate the compassion and professionalism shown by everyone on the team. Highly recommend this office — definitely a five-star experience!
