I visited on Sunday and was struck by how smoothly everything was handled from the moment I walked in. The staff and volunteers were friendly, the service was easy to follow, and the whole place felt organized without being stiff. And I appreciated how welcoming the atmosphere was throughout.

I went years ago to their Easter show. It was the best. There was live animals. I have to say I laughed so hard the donkey was bucking and stole the show. The entire audience was laughing.

St. Luke’s UMC is hands down the most loving, Christ-centered, and welcoming church I have ever experienced. There is so much sense of community and love in this place. Pastors Jenn, Jad, and Melissa are incredible, and my heart connected with them and their sermons immediately. I never knew a church could be so welcoming. They are helping me heal my relationship with the church, and I will forever be grateful for them. I am a relatively new St. Luker, but I am so happy to be a part of such a wonderful community.

I stepped away from the church in recent years. I have watched church communities I grew up in only love those that were in the walls of the church buildings and others that agreed with them rather than the community around it and caring about the cries of those outside of the church walls like Christ calls us to which is not what we were taught to do. I am grateful to have found a church community to belong to that truly cares about their community without judgement or prejudice at St. Luke's UMC here in Orlando. From playing with them in services to joining them for musicals like Big Fish this summer- this is a family of believers that has provided a new church home for me.

I have been involved in many events and shows at the church over the years and grew up in the church the first 9 years of my life with my Mom being a Pastor there. After moving away I always longed to come back as it truly feels like a home for me. St Luke’s has been me and my family’s home church for over a decade now even while we were living in Colorado!!Pastor Jenn married my wife and I in 2018!This church is more than a church. It’s a home. It’s a cornerstone of faith and in our community. The Theatre Ministry was my introduction to St Luke’s under Steve MacKinnon and it radically changed my life and my faith. The shows are top of the line and led by the the staff and even professionals in the Orlando Theatre/Theme Park Circuit. If you’re looking for a place called there…I highly suggest St Luke’s…come as you are. All are welcomed here.

In recent years, I found myself returning to the campus as an adult to lend a helping hand setting up for many of their year round programs and events. Giving of my time to help build and paint sets for their unparalleled theatre productions turned into giving even more time to build beds for families in need. Volunteering an hour out of my week to help set up for Sunday services led to me joining the phenomenal choir where each week I look forward to donning my choir robe to then sing alongside delightful St. Luke’s members who have been adding their precious voices to weekly services for decades.Besides the variety of ways to serve the community and the multitude of fellowship opportunities such as the Thursday Morning Men's Ministry Monthly Breakfast and Pints and Parables (theology on tap,) there are plenty of other learning experiences including classes where we study and delve deeper into what it means to be a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ.St. Luke’s has been an accepting and hospitable beacon in my life, giving me a sense of community when I needed it the most. Every Sunday, sanguine pastors filled with the Holy Spirit guide the congregation through either a contemporary or traditional service, (the intellectually stimulating services are different but the profundity of the divine message is the same,) and help foster a sense of peace in my heart amid a world too often filled with chaos. No matter where you are in your spiritual life, be it the need to simply get out more in order to make new friends, or to discover and devote your full self to fulfilling God’s purpose, the Pastors and Members of St. Luke’s are conscientious of everyone’s unique idiosyncrasies and will meet you wherever you happen to be on your life’s journey.

It is very unique that they offer both traditional and contemporary worship services every Sunday, and both are wonderful experiences. It is evident by the structure of the service that the staff pour their hearts into St. Luke's. I am very blessed to have found this church and have met so many wonderful people in the process.
