I recently hired Sungaze Home Improvement to replace my aging cedar wood roof. Franklin, the owner of Sungaze inspected the entire roof and determined the required process for the replacement, and shoring up the original 30 year old substructure which no longer met code. We worked together to specify the best materials and insure that the new installation would be perfect throughout its 50 year warranty. He recommended a higher grade of materials that included Turada brand "Wallaba" hardwood shakes, which outlast Cedar. We also opted for copper ridge caps and flashing, and replaced skylights. All of this was estimated at half the cost given by other roofing companies.Once the project started, Franklin found areas of our shed dormer and side porch that needed rot replaced and new flashing. All of his concerns were well documented through extensive photos. All areas of concern were addressed as part of the project with additional materials at cost and reasonable labor charges.The Sun Gaze crew is knowledgable and efficient, making a constant effort to keep the work area tidy, organized and free of trash. Franklin is very experienced and has a solution for every issue encountered. I highly recommend him and his company for expert home maintenance and improvement. Next spring we will start on the barn.
