We just stayed for 2 days. The rooms are basic but clean, cosy, and have everything you need. Obviously the stairs are crazy but the lovely host Louisa did move us down a floor. Breakfast was cooked very well. Best poached eggs I've had all week and we stayed at snooty sneaton castle for 4 days before arriving at the Howdale. (The vegetarian breakfast was delicious Kevin 😋)Our hostess is currently going through chemo and like a boss 💪 is working like a trooper through itI too have cancer so I know just how tired she must be.Wishing her the very best.Go smash it Louisa!!

My wife and I have been holidaying in Scarborough for many years and during that time stayed at several hotels and guest houses. We eventually found the Howdale and have been staying there since. The rooms are excellent (some with sea views) and the breakfast is wholesome and well cooked. We find our host very friendly and helpful and hope to continue our visits for many years to come.
