I openly disclose my bias that I have been friends with Andreh (the head black belt instructor) for over 20 years. But I think that says something also. Andreh is both a solid dude as well as an excellent jiu-jitsu instructor of both children and adults. One thing that sets Samurai Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu apart is the family vibe. If you want infighting and Cobra Kai, this isn't the place for you. If you want to gain skills and join a tribe, then I look forward to meeting you.

It’s clear that we, as parents, all share the exact same sentiment.Professor Andreh genuinely loves Jiu-Jitsu, and his passion shines through in how he teaches the kids (and adults alike). My children used to attend a different martial arts gym, but it felt incredibly commercialized. Belt tests were held like clockwork every few weeks whether the students were actually ready or not, and we had to pay a fee every single time. While the kids' belt colors kept changing, I always doubted if their actual skills were truly improving.Samurai Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, however, is a place that prioritizes real skill and genuine progress above all else. Beyond just teaching techniques, Professor Andreh guides the children to build character, respect one another, and truly understand the spirit of Jiu-Jitsu.I’m sure some of you reading this are looking for a martial arts academy for your child for the first time, while others might be tired of their current commercial gyms and searching for a change. If that's you, I highly encourage you to come and experience it for yourself. My daughter has been taking BJJ and kickboxing classes at Samurai Jiu Jitsu Academy for the last 6 months (after switching from another academy), and I have only great things to say about them.The owner and head coach, Andreh Anderson, is a great guy, and you can tell that he cares about his students.Many martial arts academies constantly want you to “test” for the next belt level, and every time that happens, there’s a fee. It feels very commercialized. I don’t get this feeling at Samurai at all. Andreh just focuses on teaching the kids (and adults). It feels very genuine and open.He let us try out the classes for a few days for free, without any pressure, and we liked them and signed up.Give them a try!
