It's been three years since I was at the clinic. I write to say that following the Equality Act and the steps is so essential for the wellbeing of disabled clients. I told you that I was dx with ASD and was very very low. I'd been forced to cancel booked appointments. I knew that I was not well enough to attend. Remember I had been sold a package of treatment tailored to my £500 budget that I discussed. I tried to re book but you effectively barred my access to the service saying I was to "to find a clinic more suited to my clinical needs". If you had entered into discussion with me, shown compassion and folloed the civil law to agree reasonable adjustments then I would not have suffered such a detriment. Differing treatment is common in my life with a dx of Autism but to have it from a place with which I had a 20 year past relationship with was shocking. There is not a week goes by now where I have an unwanted memory of being denied access to a clinic where everyone else accesses - without impediment. This is accompanied with emotional resurfacing of the feelings I had when told that my disability meant that the clinic would not treat me. If my back gets achey sometimes I have a flashback. Also... it took over two years before I discovered that my situation and ill health was the result of the side effect of medication given to me to help me cope with lockdown. So that is why it is essential to follow the Equality Act in disputes with clients with disability. I use Framework Clinic now
