I would NOT recommend this office and the care team. I was referred to Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada and was asked if I would be OK with a nurse practitioner and I said yes. My first visit was good and the Jhouleen Tiamzon the nurse practitioner seemed knowledgeable and through, she ordered some blood test and a Renal Ultrasound. Prior to my test with Desert Radiology I called to verify my appointment and everything was good. I went in for my test taking with me what paperwork I was given. Well it was not the authorization form but just a letter telling me it was going to be ordered. So after 1 hour on the phone before I had to make another appointment. The next morning I kept my Kidney Specialists and was given the authorization. The medical assistant told me see was also faxing the form in, but when she tried she could not, “they must be having telephone problems “ and she would call me when it went thru. Never got the call. During my appointment the nurse practitioner prescribed a new medication which would be sent to my pharmacy. When I called the next morning no prescription. I tried calling and the extension for medical help did not pick up, next to an operator waiting for 30+ minutes I was told the medical assistant would call me. Never got a call. I drove down to the office to get the prescription and after waiting the medical assistant came out to tell me Jhouleen Tiamzon was off, but she would call her she would definitely call her back at which time she would call me. Is asked if there was a printed copy of the prescription and she said no. I left saying that “I have really had it” I could hear the assistant yelling thru the door and across the waiting room “have a nice day” About an hour later I stopped at my pharmacy and the prescription was there, it had been sent that day and they were working on it. Twice I was told someone would call me and they did not. I find it hard to believe Desert Radiology’s phones were not working. And incredible that my prescription suddenly appears after my visit. Kidney specialists of Southern Nevada does seem to have good reviews but this team lacks professionalism and follow thru If I return to them I certainly will change care givers and possibly the office location.
