This review has been a long time coming. I want to give a huge thank you to Matt for everything. Came into the shop feeling defeated with my transmission issues but still positive seeing the good reviews. Right through the door he reassured that I was definitely in the right place & was ready to get to it and even ordered me an uber home with the assurance that that it’s all in good hands. My coverage was through a 3rd party warranty that only wanted to cover a trans with the same mileage or more than I already have which he stated wouldn’t make sense as you could run into the same problems or worse along the way & be back in the shop again. He went over & beyond to find me a better trans with more than half the mileage lower while giving me and amazing price to get it all done in the same day as ordering & shipping it to his shop. Since then my car has been driving & shifting amazing. I held out a bit because I only drive a few miles to work & back but I finally did a long drive recently & I was amazed at how smooth the trans felt & first thing that came to mind was “I NEED TO DO THIS REVIEW ASAP”. There really isn’t enough words to explain how grateful I am to have found a honest & great person such as Matt in a moment where you feel the worst because your means of transportation gives up. A lot of places will have you feeling overwhelmed but when you walk into his shop he’ll have you laughing, smiling & feeling confident to drop your keys & wait on that call to receive what feels like a brand new car. Damion and I appreciate Matt for everything he done for our 2013 Nissan Rogue we had a transmission issue and our car was sitting for 2 years. Matt had to replace our transmission it is now running smoothly he then reset the Rpms. Everything went back normal. This was an overall great experience. Matt works with every customer and make sure he keeps a great relationship with us all, He cares about his business and does not try to just get your money he wants what’s best for you and the best interests in fixing your car without charging an arm and a leg to break the banks. I had issues with CVT transmission on Subaru Legacy, found Matthew by google search and he was very nice explaining how CVT transmissions are done and said he’ll try to fix the one I have right now ( the other mechanic shop said they need to replace it and quoted me for $9k, I was absolutely heartbroken because this is very expensive for a used car). Matthew tried fixing it but it didn’t work out so he ended up getting me a new transmission. I still saved a lot of money and paid almost half of the price the other mechanic quoted me. Matthew was professional and responsive, did everything in less than 10 days. I recommend this store for women who don’t know much about cars and need someone reliable and honest.

Super impressed with the service here—real old-school, no-BS kind of business. I called Mathew just for an estimate and he ended up handling everything, including picking up my truck from another shop (even paid the balance I still owed them!). By the time I called to follow up, the truck was already at his shop. Totally unexpected and super appreciated. If you are having transmission issue and you are in the NY/NJ area theres no other place to get the issue resolved than with Matthew!!! I own a rare honda civic type R that transmission issue and nobody wanted to go near it as in rebuilding for the complexity of it but Matthew and his team took the challenge and scouted everywhere to make this mission possible. Took some time but everyone including Matthew were upbeat and let me know everything about the process which allowed me to focus on other things they really worked hard on my vehicle. Which leds me to this next thing Matthew is a very cool, down to earth dude that makes you feel like family. I highly highly you make a stop here if you are having issue with your vehicle but especially your transmission they know exactly how to diagnoses the problem for a great price!!In closing my vehicle with its very complex transmission shifts like brand new Im so grateful for the people at Transmission and Car care in Roselle, NJ

a couple months back my car transmission blew i was lost and didn’t know where to go i felt like i was being over priced , i did some research and came across a near by transmission shop i called and spoke with matt i explained him what the situation was and he broke everything down on how cvt transmission work , with all this i decided to go ahead and do Business with him , overall the car was fixed less than a week with 1 year warranty. so if anybody has issues with there Vehicle , matt is the guy .

Had an issue with my Jetta hybrid transmission and VW said it will cost me $10000. I found Matthew online and he fixed it for $4000. The car ran well for 3 weeks then the transmission packed up again. Unfortunately for me, he said the warranty does not cover the part of the transmission that got spoilt. Terrible for me as I wasted $4000.
