After screening several kitchen and bath remodelers in Northern Virginia, we decided to work with GBC Kitchen and Bath of Ashburn. From the estimate to completion of the project, we found this company to be very fair, courteous, responsive, reliable, and professional. GBC Kitchen and Bath recently completed a primary shower remodel for us. (November 2025) The original tiled shower was over 20 years old and in dire need of some work. I reached out to GBC Kitchen and Bath after reading other reviews. Alan Karakas, Lead Designer / Project Developer, responded to me promptly. Alan was very insightful and open with his suggestions and design ideas. He listened to what we wanted and assisted us in achieving the look that we were going for. We had three other estimates where the contractors put limitations, and stipulations on what products we could use and the scope of what they would do. The other contractors did not appear to listen to what we wanted. The quote from GBC Kitchen and Bath for the project was very fair. We then visited the GBC Kitchen and Bath showroom in Ashburn. The showroom has a large selection of tile. Again, Alan was extremely helpful and patient with us in making a tile selection for our project.The Project Manager (Ramon) and his crew (Alvaro, Iban, Ricardo, and Jose) were amazing. Throughout the entire remodel, the Project Manager stayed in constant contact with us and stopped by or call us every day to ensure we were happy with the work and to answer any questions. The crew was amazing, very knowledgeable, polite, and professional. The quality and craftsmanship of their work was exceptional. The crew always showed up on time, and before leaving for the day made sure the area was clean. The GBC team was awesome to work with and did a great job with our complete kitchen renovation. The price was competitive and came in lower than two other quotes received and it was nice having a showroom to visit to see the design that Alan put together. We are very happy to have chosen GBC to renovate our Master bathroom.We were looking for the right contractor to install h a free standing bath with a Thermamasseur air jet system. To install this kind of a bath you need a very experienced contractor that you can trust because there is complicated wiring and plumbing involved. I saw an ad of GBC, and that they provide a 2 year warranty which made me reach out.The first person we met was Caglia the designer. We told her about the bath and that needed it to be installed within 8 weeks. She said it would be possible, and within a week sent her design and proposal. At her office she had all of the sample materials ready for us to choose. Within 2 weeks we started the renovation.Ramon the project manager was great at coordinating the schedule and materials. He would come by almost daily and when he couldn’t, reach out via phone to keep us updated and make sure that we were happy with the progress. He is also very responsive and when a problem comes up he will find a solution.The GC crew was also very high-skilled, with Alvaro the foreman and his team, Luis and Jose. They were very organized, thoughtful and careful with their work. They covered the bedroom with plastic to keep dust out and covered the floor and stairs with cardboard to prevent damage. At the end of the day they cleaned and vacuumed before going home to keep the workplace clean and organized. It was not a easy job to install the tub because of all the wiring that was involved but they were able to do it without any issues. We also wanted to tile the whole bathroom, so GBC sent Elvin who did a remarkable job.The whole job exceeded our expectations. The whole project took just 8 weeks from contact with GBC and they easily finished the whole renovation. The result is breathtaking, top notch quality. I would easily recommend them to anyone who needs work done.

I can not be more pleased with the work and quality of GBC. We had our kitchen and master bath redone. From the start of designing with Alan to the start of construction through completion with Ramon, Alvaro and team everything was smooth and stress free. Being very nervous about the amount of work and mess, they provided exceptional set up to maintain the work areas, and cleaned up every single evening. Ramon the project manager was there all the time, texting and keeping us informed, showing us what was going to be done, asking questions to ensure that things were going as we planned making sure we knew everything with the schedules etc. Alvaro the lead construction/remodeler was beyond a master craftsman. He and the team were meticulous, extremely hard workers and so very trust worthy. We literally enjoyed having them there! We were so happy with our decision to go with GBC. Everything started with Alan who visited our house, spoke to us regarding what we wanted to do with our current kitchen/dining room/living room space. He provided a few layout options and we worked together to eventually come up with a layout that we loved, along the way he made sure to point out any pros and cons with what we wanted to do.GBC took care of coordinating all the necessary inspections and handled the visits without having to involve us.Once the work started we had the most amazing crew, Ramon, our project manager provided us with step by step daily schedules and what to expect from the crew each and every day. We were told when they finished for the day and when they would be arriving the next day. They consulted us with any modifications or decisions that had to be made.The crew consisted of 3 of the best individuals I have ever had do work at my house. Alvaro led the team and was our point person for any day to day questions. I cannot stress enough how professional they all were, and how they always showed up on time and worked crazy hours to get the project completed on time. They cleaned up every day before they left made sure our house was in great shape. We selected GBC, after interviewing 6 different contractors over a three-week period. After each contractor interview, we just couldn’t get past how much we “connected” with Alan. We walked in to his store completely on a whim and from the very first meeting that connection meant everything to us.This review is long winded and I hope you take the time to read it. I think it’s important to share pleasant experiences and to give “kudos” where they are truly deserved. For Alan and his team, it is more than deserved. It is our pleasure to give Alan and his team a glowing review and we have referred them to family, friends and neighbors! Several will be using them for upcoming projects!From the beginning…..If you’ve ever had a renovation or contractor work performed for you….sometimes the sales or first impression is great but then the rest of the job just goes to hell in a hand basket.
