Dear Alison,I attended your Christmas and Easter intensive courses on A-Level Physics, covering many topics and concepts that I struggled grasping, particularly potential dividers. I remember especially the lesson on potential dividers when you told us to look at it In terms of potential, was truly eye opening and I felt for the first time that A-Level Physics is doable.Having always been stuck at a B grade, I enrolled in your courses and immediately found concepts were easier to grasp, exam questions were easier to answer. When my final exams were around the corner, I was more confident in my exam-technique and started picking up more marks in each past-paper I was doing.I received my A-Level Results yesterday and I finally broke that B barrier and achieved an A in A-Level Physics. We were looking for a Physics tutor for our son when we came across 42Tutoring ads on Facebook. They were offering a free online masterclass, which we thought would be a great opportunity to gauge whether it would be beneficial. After attending, we were genuinely impressed by the teaching style, particularly with the emphasis on exam-technique and how it can help students understand how to approach and correctly answer exam-questions.During the 4-month period my son attended 42Tutoring, he received personalised support with all areas of difficulty through 1-on-1 sessions. He also found the Turbo-Tutor feature (a WhatsApp group chat to receive help and advice on any questions) notably useful.Something else he felt was valuable was learning about and practicing all the different parts of ninja-question analysis, which provided a lot of confidence in understanding what examiners are testing in different exam-questions and hence how to answer them, and that too not just in Physics!Furthermore, they encourage a genuine interest and fascination in Physics whilst providing advice and support for dealing with the pressures surrounding exams.Thanks to Alison and Bryan’s fantastic support and expertise, my son managed to increase in Physics by two grades. I have been looking for a physics tutor for my daughter (who is in year 13 now) since she started year 12. We have approached everyone we know from teachers in her school to private tutor firms, however no one was able to recommend a good physics teacher for her.I was very desperate when I saw Alison's advert on Facebook offering a free online consultation session and I thought what do I have to lose. Mr Murphy used to teach me and he had the perfect mix of humour and also actually teaching! I remember feeling a lot more motivated to do my physics when he would teach me and even though I have dyslexia mr Murphy made sure it was easy to understand! Sadly I haven’t had the pleasure of being taught by Alison but by the way she comes across with the warmest smile I’m sure she would be equally as good! 3 Cheers for Alison and 42 Tutoring!!!! My daughter had a very difficult year 13 healthwise, and decided to take a gap year and resit all 3x A levels. Physics was her nemesis - quite frankly she struggled to understand it despite a getting a 9 in GCSEs. She also disliked AstroPhysics specialism (not her choice) intensely. Against a backdrop of working full time and without any support from her school, the likelihood of improving grades was always going to be a tall order. Then we found Alison and 42 Tutoring......and the odds of success improved significantly. Alison coached her in key exam techniques and focussed on past papers to cement the theory. Alison's approach to being on hand 'anytime' through her whatsapp group was amazing, saving time and keeping motivation up. Swapping to Medical Physics to self teach was going to add to the pressure but it layered well with her Biology A level so there was logic in making the change. Alison quickly completed her Medical Specialism tutor pack to allow my daughter to self teach. 'A' Level results came out yesterday and we are super proud - she improved for all 3, however the biggest improvement by a country mile was Physics! University here she comes with a new found confidence that she actually understands Physics!! I cannot recommend Alison and 42 Tutoring highly enough.

We attended a free Zoom demo with Alison a couple of weeks ago, towards the end of Year 12, when my daughter was reconsidering her A-Level choices after a change in her higher education goals. Ultimately, she decided to restart Year 12 with a new subject combination, no longer including physics, but both of us were genuinely disappointed that we wouldn’t be continuing with Alison.Alison was incredibly generous with her time, even fitting us in at short notice on a hot Friday evening. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and it was immediately clear that she brings not only deep subject knowledge but also a wealth of experience in education and working with young people. The time flew by - she held my daughter’s attention far longer than I expected!After the session, Alison promptly sent us links to some free videos. My daughter watched them (even the 2h video on Fields and Forces, also available free on her website!) and found them helpful. I watched some sections myself, having done A-Level Physics (many years ago!), and found them genuinely engaging. I really appreciated Alison’s style: warm, natural, unrehearsed, and clearly expert. She came across as completely herself - enthusiastic and approachable.Although we didn’t end up enrolling, I came away with a very positive impression of the programme. I genuinely believe that the 5-day intensive course combined with the Gold or Titanium framework would be highly effective. I used to assume one-to-one tuition was the best option, but for A-Level Physics, I think this kind of high-quality group tuition would be more cost-effective and would result in significantly more hours engaging with tutors. I think the tutors will help the students identify their weaknesses and work on those areas, leading to the most efficient use of their time.I did initially hesitate for a long time, partly due to the cost, and partly because I assumed it was a larger tuition agency with multiple tutors, but it’s actually just two highly experienced teachers, Alison and Bryan (and possibly someone else to help with marking).I felt very guilty for taking up Alison’s time without signing up, but she was very gracious and supportive. If you're considering A-Level Physics tuition, I highly recommend booking a free demo. Alison exceeded my expectations, and no, she’s not too good to be true (as far as I can tell at this stage!)
