WARNING: Destroyed my daughter's prom dress. Complete lack of consent and professionalism. If I could give zero stars, I would. I had to wait until my daughter’s prom was over to write this because the entire experience was so incredibly stressful and disturbing. We brought a beautiful, expensive prom gown—with a train and multiple layers of tulle—here for a simple trimming so it would be easier to dance in.What followed was an absolute nightmare, and the dress was left completely unwearable. The dress was completely hacked on the first try. One side was left shorter and lopsided, the beautiful train was entirely cut off, and the whole gown was left hovering a shocking six inches above the ground.Desperate with prom just days away, we went back because she claimed she could fix it. Because I had massive concerns, I pressed her for answers—asking exactly how she would fix it, what method she'd use, and if it would look the same. She flat-out refused to answer a single question. When we came back to try it on, it was still visibly crooked, and I actually watched her manipulate her tape measure to try and "prove" it was straight. As part of “fixing” the short crooked hem, she cut off the expensive hand-beading WITHOUT OUR CONSENT. The hand-beaded details are exactly what made this gown so beautiful and expensive. Without a single word to us, this woman took it upon herself to cut right through that hand-beaded top layer. To hide her original hack job, she sloppily glued the cut pieces onto a new layer of tulle to attempt to disguise the mistake. We never, ever consented to this. We never consented to her cutting the beadwork, and we never consented to fabric glue. On top of that, the corset waist was now rolling and structurally ruined. It was just a crooked, glued-together, ruined mess that my daughter couldn't even wear. When my daughter was standing in front of the mirror holding back tears, I was furious and visibly upset, as any parent would be. I demanded to know how this was going to be handled, brought up the cost of the dress, and offered the receipt to discuss compensation. Instead of a mature conversation, the owner marched out, slapped down the $100 hemming fee (which she had previously demanded in cash with no receipt), insulted the value of the dress, and shouted at us to leave. She then completely ignored us as if we weren't there. This woman has the capability to completely destroy a milestone dress, perform unauthorized alterations on expensive details without permission, use cheap fabric glue to cover up her mistakes, and then turn completely hostile to avoid taking responsibility. Please protect your garments, your money, and your peace of mind by going anywhere else.
