Van lined up 12 bottles with secret identities, perfectly selected to complement each course. We sampled each one while making guesses and jotting notes on notecards about what we thought we were tasting. Later, the wines’ identities — and even their “personalities” — were revealed, which made the experience even more entertaining.As someone who had never attended a wine tasting before, I was so impressed. Van made the evening approachable, engaging, educational, and fun all at the same time. His passion and knowledge were obvious, but he never made it feel intimidating. We had an absolute great time with Van at the wine event. We did a blind tasting which was a great twist. Because Van is so knowledgeable about wine, I did miss him walking through each bottle as we tasted. He recapped everything at the end so we got the best of both experiences. Highly recommend grabbing a spot at one of his events.

He discussed the wine growing regions and the wines just enough to keep everyone’s attention. He paired the wines with different foods. My only regret is that I did not join them. I can’t wait to have him back for a French wine event.
