Sydney Salsa Classes

This is my first experience with structured salsa classes and it has been great. I came on my own and solo people that is no issue - you will dance with everyone as you rotate quite regularly. There's also a non-rotating line for couples. The instructors are great, but I particularly love Alessia & Will. I appreciate how they take turns giving instructions specific to follows & leads separately & then explain how to put it together. She is the sass queen of close holds & hilarious style drills (thank you patient & poseable leads). Will is more understated but I saw him quietly go around & dance with all the wallflowers at the recent salsa social (La Fiesta). On that note, kudos to the crew who jump in to make sure there are enough leads (fellas, I'm not telling you what to do but there *is* a shortage - come join a salsa class iykyk). Yes there is a free class - it's a great starting point & you'll be learning from the start. As you progress your classmates will be at the same level as or slightly more advanced than you - this is good because it takes the pressure off while giving you a chance to dance with people who can help you out. Classes have a great, supportive vibe, not to mention they're a great cardio workout. Every class I go to I'm always surprised when it ends - time flies when you're having fun!
