When I first tried CrossFit years ago at another gym, it honestly confirmed every negative stereotype you hear about CrossFit — intimidating, unwelcoming, not my vibe at all. CrossFit Calaveras is the complete opposite in the best possible way.This gym is everything people say CrossFit can be when it’s done right: community-based, encouraging, supportive, and truly uplifting. The coaches are incredible - knowledgeable, patient, and always focused on helping you improve safely. They work with you on form, modify movements when you need it, and help you stay consistent without ever feeling judged. I’m recovering from a shoulder injury right now, and Teddie has been amazing about not only scaling workouts in class but also giving me things I can do outside of class to build strength and heal properly.The environment itself is unmatched. The gym is always clean, the energy is always high, you can walk in feeling grumpy - but I guarantee you’ll leave in a good mood every single time. And it’s not just the endorphins… it’s the people!! The culture here is so positive, so uplifting, and so welcoming. I’ve never experienced a community like this at any gym and I’m so grateful for it every day!Since joining, I’ve gotten stronger and far more consistent. The Committed Club each month is such a fun motivator, and we always have challenges throughout the year; Sober October, the 800 Gram Challenge, and more. Everything is designed to keep you engaged, supported, and excited to show up, even if it takes a sticker chart to get us there!No matter your fitness level, age, experience, or injury history, you will be welcomed and encouraged here. It’s truly a gym like no other, and I honestly feel sad on the days I miss (even on the running days, sorta), not just because of the workout, but because of the boost of pure good energy you get from being around this community!I would challenge anyone to come try a class and not love it. This place is something special!!
