We couldn't be happier with our garage floor from Golden State Coatings. Choosing a company was actually harder than we expected. I contacted several companies for quotes, and because we hadn't taken possession of the house yet, getting an accurate estimate wasn't easy. Most conversations felt pretty transactional—here's a rough price per square foot and approximately what it'll cost.Jose was completely different. From our first conversation, he was incredibly kind and took the time to thoroughly explain his process, the materials he uses, and what he recommended based on what I wanted. Before I had even hired him, he made time to meet me at our old house, show me samples in person, and walk me through all of the options. Once we got the keys to the new house, he was prepared and ready to go.The job also turned out to be much more difficult than expected. Once Jose and his brother started grinding, they discovered areas of soft, loose concrete underneath. Instead of taking a shortcut and coating over it, they put in the extra work to hand-grind the floor until they reached solid concrete. They also added additional material because of the concrete issue at no extra charge, completed the moisture barrier and full flake system, and did the two top coats I requested. The finished floor looks incredible.Jose and his brother were extremely professional throughout the entire process. What stood out most was that Jose took the time to earn our business before we ever hired him, listened to what we wanted, and then followed through when the job became more difficult than anyone anticipated. We absolutely recommend Golden State Coatings—they take pride in their work, don't cut corners, and genuinely care about the finished product and their customers.

Jose and his team came down to my home in Monterey to refinish my 3-car garage floor. They did a great job and went above and beyond by moving a large tool chest. They also came back a week later to finish the floor under the feet of my car lift. The floor quality is great, and Jose is excellent at explaining the process from start to finish.
