Nicks Last Resort

We stayed at Nick’s Last Resort Campground in Manila for 6 nights in May and overall had a really enjoyable stay. We chose it over the nearby KOA because of all the glowing reviews, and we genuinely enjoyed the quiet small-town atmosphere and beautiful mountain views. We saw deer almost every day!The campground itself is definitely bare bones, but that doesn’t bother us at all since we travel full time and don’t need amenities at every stop. Site 1 especially had gorgeous, unobstructed views of the mountains. The only disappointment was the power situation. The campground advertises “120 volt power up to 50 amps,” but when we arrived our surge protector alerted us that there was a missing leg, meaning we were only receiving 30 amp service. When we called, Nick asked what we needed 50 amps for, which honestly caught us off guard a bit since that was specifically what was advertised and one of the reasons we booked there. To his credit, he did offer to refund us so we could move to the KOA, which we appreciated, but after recently staying somewhere else with limited power, we were really looking forward to not having to juggle laundry, cooking, work, and usage around power limitations. We had also read a lot about how personable and knowledgeable Nick is about the area, but he unfortunately wasn’t around during our stay, so we felt like we missed out on part of the experience people talk about in reviews. Overall though, we still enjoyed our stay and would rather support a small local campground than a chain. Just wanted to leave an honest review for future travelers.
