Dennis's team just finished painting the main floor of my house on Lake Whatcom. This included the kitchen cabinets and lots of trim and wainscoting. They kept to my tight schedule and Tony, Vitaly, and Vitto did an excellent job. One thing I will say is Next Step was the youngest company I interviewed. I got quotes from 3 other highly rated outfits who all leaned on their years of experience. When I spoke to Dennis he discussed the job the same as the other guys, but he came across as the most concerned with doing a great job and making us happy. That's exactly what they did. We did a walk through the day they finished which identified a number of touch up areas. They were done the next day. I found Dennis because of his great reviews. He earns them and cares deeply about his reputation. That's the kind of company I like to work with.

I went to Angie's List to find a painter for the interior of our new home. Dennis called me 30 seconds after it posted. I was impressed with his drive and knowledge of our needs. We were under a time crunch and Dennis sent his foreman, Vito, to give us a bid. Vito was also very knowledgeable and personable. I picked my paint colors out online, which I now know is not the way to go, but Vito said their supplier could match the 3 paint colors. The colors are beautiful and we are very happy with the entire process and pricing. We will definitely use Next Step Painting again and highly recommend!

Dennis and company did an amazing job with our house’s exterior. Nathan and Aaron spent almost as much time prepping the house (pressure washing, caulking, sanding, and priming) as they did doing the actual paint. They worked around the periodic rain storms and still managed an incredible attention to detail.It looks like a brand new house!

Great work from the folks at Next Step. We had a small-ish interior job (one room, plus one wall of another), yet Dennis (owner?/pm) and Aaron (painter) took the job 100% seriously and professionally. Cost was on par or better than others we contacted for estimates, and responsiveness was better. Attention to detail, timeliness, and finishing were excellent. As a bonus, when Dennis came to review the finalized project he provided very helpful feedback and advice on other areas of the house that we plan on addressing ourselves. The only negative was a miscommunication within their team that led to a delay in getting the project started. But it was quickly addressed and the project started the next business day. Overall we are very happy and would definitely use these guys again.

Dennis came out and took a look at what I had and talked about paints and prep/minor repairs for the exterior of my house. Afterward, I approved the estimate/job (via email). His manager, Vitto, sent me computer generated photos of my house with the various paint schemes I was thinking of with a few ideas of his own included. I picked my colors and he sent me some paint sample codes that might match what I wanted. In the meantime they got together a large enough crew that they could get my job done while the weather still permitted and started prep work right away. They got the job done in about two days. It looks really nice and well done. Very relieved and happy to have it done. I was at work when they were working on my house but things were pretty clean when I got home and after they finished as well.

Next Step Painting painted the outside of our Bellingham home. The house is a fifty-year old midcentury modern design, with original cedar siding. Jose, our point person, was meticulous in his preparation: caulking, applying bondo, and sanding where necessary. Definitely understood the age-old painting knowledge: it’s in the prep work. The final product was outstanding: under the soffits, facia, trim, body…. All looks great. Small points: the job site was left clean every night. Plastic was cleared from the windows. Chipped paint was cleaned up. Liked these guys and highly recommend them.

We hired Next Step to paint the exterior of our house and it was a great experience. We got a really competitive quote and several options like all the surface prep like cleaning and power washing, premium prep which included recaulking any windows and additional scraping / sanding on surfaces that needed it, and other optional add-ons like doors and gutters. We originally opted for the basic surface prep and painting, but Dennis was able to accommodate a late change to add the premium prep after life got in our way and we couldn't get to it all ourselves. All of his guys who performed the work were friendly and communicative and genuinely motivated to do the job right. All in they got the job done on time and on budget and the end result looks great.
