My brother had back surgery and needed homecare after rehab. Problem was he lived way out from Bozeman and snow was a probable problem. Jen and her staff spent many hours finding a solution in town. Despite many roadblocks and hitches they worked tirelessly to facilitate the plan. In a snowstorm they picked my brother up and delivered him safely with excellent driving to a temporary destination. Jen and the office staff were always courteous, kind and understanding. Their caregivers cheerfully helped my brother and filled all his needs. I worked for Qualicare for a year after college to gain some additional experience in healthcare. The following is somewhat long, but I hope it will provide a clear picture of their organization. Their starting wage was generous, they provided more than ample training so that I felt confident in my first patient interactions, they were very flexible with my schedule, and I felt like I was making a positive difference in the lives of the people under my care. The owners of Qualicare also did a great job in matching caregivers with patients, which demonstrates the effort they spend getting to know the specific needs and personalities of the caregivers, patients, and families, and made me more effective in my care. Sometimes the work could be challenging, but I always felt well-supported in my role and caring for others was immensely rewarding. The owners led by example and didn't leave others to do the hardest work -- they were often involved directly in the care of patients. My coworkers were supportive, hard-working, and conscientious as well. I felt that we were all invested in the larger purpose of our work. I would not be matriculating to medical school this fall without the experiences and skills I built during my time at Qualicare. If you are thinking about a career in healthcare, I highly recommend working here to meet some really cool people, take part in some meaningful work, and interact closely with patients and their families. Hospice of Bozeman referred us to Qualicare to expand care for our father at a critical point when he would not have been able to remain in his apartment otherwise. They responded within hours and provided totally reliable, professional, devoted care for the rest of his life. The senior managers were always available, and extremely flexible and responsive to our father's and our changing needs, including respectfully coordinating with other agencies, even when this was inconvenient. The caregivers were almost all young, but extremely kind, generous and responsible. They provided care "above and beyond," including reading him poetry and helping him go out shopping, as well as increasingly intensive personal care with great respect for his dignity. As a physician myself, I know the seamless, dependable, excellent services they provided only happen with great training, staffing and supervision. Jen, Suzette, and Sierra (our ladies in the office) are extremely organized, and easy to communicate with. Also, they don't just stay in the office- they pick up shifts and make visits regularly! Any questions, doubts, or concerns I had (concerning patients records, or my own personal employee needs) were always answered in a timely, concise manner, and all important information shared in an efficient and secure way. During the opportunities I saw either Jen or Suzette interact with clients, they were professional, patient and polite, while also maintaining an air of familiarity, not superiority, with me, the client, and their family members.
