Tonight was our first visit to the Cardinal. I was impressed with their craft cocktails. They also have a signature beer brewed by Broomtail brewing named after the restaurant, the Cardinal Kolach! It’s an excellent Kolsch with a bit of amber to it ! Our bartender, Katie provided excellent service and gave great recommendations! Our food was fantastic. This place is a hidden gem. We went for Wednesday night half price burgers and were greeted by a professional bartender, Katie, who was wonderful in detailing the nights specials, including alerting us to the pastry chef’s banana bread which was just coming out of the oven. What a special treat to look forward to. The burgers were prepared as requested and not a single bite was wasted. I had originally ordered my usual go to beer, Teeches Peaches. However halfway through the meal, the owner stopped by to say hi and ask how the meal was so far. We started talking football as he and my wife were both Steelers fans. I’m a Baltimore Ravens fan, so there was some ribbing back and forth. The owner went on to tell us about a special kolsch made by broomtail brewing especially for “The Cardinal”. He offered to buy me one. Now there’s a miracle. A Steelers fan buying a ravens fan a beer. I’ll be back again! Less
