I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The dishes are incredible and prepared with tender love and care, each vegetable is fresh and cooked to a level that would make Gordon Ramsey blush. The Pollo Genevieve is immaculate, salmon is cooked to a perfect crisp. Wines are well-priced and beautifully paired. Waitress was attentive and personable, most likely to win an award for fantastic service. Best food we had in Wilmington, and we tried every single place without exception for sure. Live piano music, musician assumed to be a direct descendant of Beethoven. The customer next to us had the voice of RFK Jr. and the aura of a car crash, but that is not the restaurants fault. Waitress who handled her should get a Purple Heart. 6/5 stars, recommend it to your family right now.

We love having the Cardinal nearby. The staff is very friendly and the food is reliably good. We enjoy going for burger night on Wednesdays and our kids enjoy playing near the pond behind the restaurant while we sit on the patio.

In town for the day and decided to try The Cardinal. The food was EXCELLENT. This is definitely a place to try if you’re in the area. For appetizers, we did goat cheese stuffed dates (AMAZING) and fresh sourdough bread. The pizza, pasta, and salad were incredible. Two thumbs up - we’re leaving stuffed!

I had the best time here on a date night! The place felt so cozy and the live music made the night feel really special. Our server Dylan was so kind and knew the menu really well. She helped us choose everything and made us feel really at home the whole time.We started with the baked brie with apples which was warm and so good, and I got the white pizza with blackened chicken that I loved. For dessert we had crème brûlée and it was the perfect ending. Everything was delicious and the whole night just felt like such a treat. I can’t wait to come back again

What a great spot! First time diner. The layout is really cool with a nice sized bar area on one side and dining room on the other…the food was fantastic and our server Michael added to all of it in a positive way! Great specials including 2 additional seafood options and a diverse menu including multiple small bites if you just want a tapas type of experience. The shortrib and house pasta specialty with added shrimp was delicious. Will absolutely return!

My partner and I came to the Cardinal for our Valentine's Day reservations. It was hard to notice amongst the other stores, but we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was romantic and intimate with beautiful paintings on the walls. Our server Michael was passionate about his job and very kind and contributed to our wonderful dinner. The app was Brie with seasoned apples and it was so creamy and flavorful! I had the short rib and my partner had the Ribeye. From someone who loves ordering a good steak, it was the best steak they've ever had. The steak sauce was house made and jammy, cooked to perfect temp (medium rare) and my short rib was so tender and the spinach and smooth mashed potatoes compliment it so good I basically inhaled it! The dessert was peach and cranberry fruit cobbler with ice cream and it was tart but sweet, with a hint of salty and my gosh! If you want somewhere romantic, with some of the best food in wilmington look no further! It's unassuming on the outside, but so SO worth it!Thank you Michael for being our server!
