I recommend PH Design wholeheartedly! We engaged them to put an in-law suite onto our existing home. During the quoting process, their team came out our house, listened to our wants and needs, and offered a design that fit our space and our budget.Once we agreed to move forward, we were given a project manager (Nick Burkett) to oversee the entire process. He became our one point of contact, setting a weekly schedule with the contractors, keeping us updated on progress, and working through any issues. This project manager role was invaluable, and I would never undertake a similar project without it.The pool of contractors PH Design works with is also phenomenal. With a project like this, workers are always coming and going inside and outside the house. Everyone that came through was efficient, respectful, and cleaned up at the end of the day.With all projects, there will be setbacks and obstacles to overcome. But PH Design’s structure and size make them uniquely qualified to fix issues efficiently. Whenever our project faced a challenge, the team came back to us with solutions that were quickly implemented.Overall, we interviewed five companies about our addition. I can’t image that we would be as satisfied as we are now if we had gone with any of the other four. The PH Design team puts everything they have into each project, and we could not be happier that we chose them to help us out! I would (and have already) recommend them for your project!

5/5 Stars – An Incredible Home Building Experience!Building a new home felt like a daunting process, and going into it, we had no idea what to expect and were honestly pretty nervous about getting the typical runaround. Choosing PH Design and Construction was the best decision we could have made—the experience was fantastic from start to finish.From day one, Aaron and his team were so easy to talk to and bounce ideas off of. They genuinely listened to what we wanted, taking their initial design and customizing it to fit our family's exact needs and desires.Once the floor plan was finalized, we worked with Nick, Sarah, and Julie, who were absolute gems! Creative, responsive, and incredibly helpful—there aren't enough positive words to describe this team. A special highlight was when Julie held a design meeting specifically for my son and daughter so they could help plan their own rooms. That personal touch meant the world to us.The PH team truly delivered on almost everything we wanted and needed. On top of the great communication, their efficiency was incredible: they broke ground in October and had us moved in by April!If you are looking for a builder that is collaborative, efficient, and truly cares about your family, we cannot recommend PH Design and Construction enough.

Where do I begin? This was a project from a nightmare. We started this kitchen remodel in December. We were told 2 to 2/5 months to complete. Its May 20 and this still is not finished. We had about 30 days of workers NO SHOW. Supposedly this company has weekly meetings how the jobs are going but I'm not sure what they discuss because from the office manager Julie to the owner Aaron nobody knew that people were not showing up to work. The painters and dry wall people were so bad that they quit showing up to the job site. We of course told the project manager Nick, and the owner Aaron and instead of hiring someone new the owner decided to have the project manager to paint (we didn't hire a project manager for a professional paint job, we trusted PH to hire someone. So instead, they had Nick paint the same places 4 or 5 times and it still looked like a 3 year did it then the owner Aaron decided he would try painting, but they still looked like crap so after wasting everyone's time they finally hired some other painter to do it. It should not have taken 6 times to paint the same spots. They wanted to do a final walk through we said no because the job was not completed and we didn't want to sign off on anything until everything was done and looked like a professional did it. So, after we said we did not want to do the walk through they LIED and said it was a prewalk through so that my husband and I would participate. However, on this "pre walk though" we received a thank you basket for using the company and they had their photographer come to take the "final" photos when the job was not done, so they lied the pre walk through we participated in was the final one. We still owe our last payment of $4800.00 but we keep blowing fuses since they remodeled and Aaron the owner called in April to ask if we were happy and if they could finalize this and receive final payment. We explained about the fuses blowing, so Aaron said ill have Mario (the electrician who is supposedly a pro) reach out to us to set up a time to figure out why we're blowing fuses but of course Mario never called, nobody ever came to fix it. So, the project still is not done.During our experience PH repeatedly apologized for dropping the ball. They made promises and broke them. They claim to hire professionals but do not. Do yourself a favor and hire another company.

Ph Design did a fantastic job in our remodel! Everyone there is so good to work with, helpful and talented. They transformed our tiny kitchen into a spectacular one! Moved our basement steps to make this happen. Moved our laundry upstairs and took out tub to make a walk in shower. Sarah has such a knack for the design and is so helpful with helping pick just the right components to make the finished product up to date and beautiful. So glad we went with her suggestions! Nick ran our job efficiently and was always helpful with our questions and concerns to make sure all was taken care of to our liking. Julie and Aaron are there offering help as well. The whole team made our remodel wishes come true. The products they use are great quality! They want to do a great job and have happy clients. Thank you all so much for all you did! The team at PH Design is not only knowledgeable, skilled, and efficient but also friendly, accommodating, and visionary. They listened and gave us everything we wanted in our dream getaway on Kelleys Island—a two-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch with an attached two-car garage. We love every inch of our new home, but we are especially obsessed with the vaulted ceiling in the great room, the floor-to-ceiling cabinets in the kitchen, and the large windows that line the walls in our light-filled sunroom. Because the team is so detailed, organized, and tech savvy, the build went off without a hitch. Smooth was their handling of the typical logistics that come with a new build. Impressive was their handling of the atypical logistics that come with building on an island, including ferry schedules, septic system site evaluations, zoning variance applications, and more. This enthusiastic, creative, and warm team of artisans took special care of us from our initial meeting to our final walkthrough. By the end of the magical experience, we felt like a part of the family.

With a growing family and more space needed, we had a decision to make. It was either to buy a larger home or add on to our current home in the neighborhood we love.We met with other contractors prior to PH and after the very first meeting with Aaron & Sarah they exceeded our expectations. We quickly chose PH to take on this project.PH offers an "in-house" designer, Sarah who worked with us from start to finish on every detail/selection. It was very helpful because all of those small details when added up can become very overwhelming over the course of the entire project.Our project manager Nick B. was great! From scheduling to keeping us informed on progress, inspections and next steps his communication was solid and professional. Our kids even know him by name and still ask about Mr. Nick! His consideration for making sure that our home was kept clean by the sub contractors was very much appreciated.Julie, the manager at the office was so kind and kept in touch every step of the way. She made sure that we were happy with how the project was progressing.There were few hiccups along the way as with any construction project. PH was fair and accommodating in the resolutions provided.PH currently uses a software program with a mobile app to keep track of scheduling, invoicing, selections, etc. This was a great tool and really helped us keep track of the job's progress with updates from the PH team.Also wanted to note that we welcomed a new baby during the construction process. The PH team sent us dinner to welcome us back home from the hospital and made extra accommodations to limit dust and keep our home clean as we finished. Just a few other examples of how PH operates.In our opinion, PH's in house design team offering a custom home builder's expertise in a remodel/addition project is unique and helped set them apart from other contractors that we had bid the job.We are very grateful and pleased with the work. We are so thankful we found PH, they made the process of building our new home stress free and easy after much stress this past year. Aaron, Sarah, Stephanie and the construction manager, Andy, were a pleasure to work with. From start to finish they were there to answer all of our questions and make our vision come to life. The details and quality are next level. We've been in our new home for about 6 months now and every single person that comes in comments on the "rounded" walls where they come together. That is just standard in their homes, and it really does just elevate the look of every room. We also wanted a few custom looks to our island and laundry room, instead of making us jump to the next level of cabinetry, they custom built the additional woodworking, and they did a fabulous job! I still fall in love with our home every time I walk through our doors. The only issues or negative thing we had during our build was some timing issues, however we built during Covid. That was standard for any business, no one could find workers. One subcontractor backed out on our job completely because they overbooked themselves. While it wasn't ideal, we know it wasn't their fault. I only mention this to be completely transparent and for anyone who is looking for a builder, to know that some things come up, make sure you have a game plan in place if timing could affect you. Luckily we owned and it didn't make a difference. Also, during our entire process the PH design team was going through personnel changes, and you would have never even known. Everyone stepped into their roles seamlessly. This team, while small, is mighty!!

PH Design was amazing, they understood our vision for what we wanted for our home and made it even better. We thought our house looked nice before but their updates took it to a "WOW" factor. Their design team did an amazing job on creating our new bathroom including a custom made built in cat litter box that our cats love! The exterior renovations including replacing multiple exterior decks, siding, spouting and adding a stone foundation as well as adding stone to our chimney made the exterior look better than we had imagined!PH was able to help us far more than anyone else we had consulted with and were focused on the details. We have a ranch style home that needed completely remodeled from lack of insulation, hazardous electrical, old crank windows, squeaky ugly flooring, problematic fireplace, out dated kitchen and baths with an overall waste of space layout.The before and after photos are astounding! I met them at a Home Improvement Show at the IX Center and from there chose them to remodel my kitchen/dining room. I can't say enough about my beautiful kitchen. I was so impressed with how customer oriented the entire team was from start to finish! I had a schedule and knew when everything was going to take place, daily! I had a budget and did not go over. The girls (Rachel and Colette) were so helpful when I just could not decide between this or that. Aaron was always available to answer any questions I had along the way too, even on his family vacation! And Mike was absolutely outstanding in keeping me informed on the daily tasks at hand. We used Ph Design to build our first home. Building for a first time home owner in general can be very daunting, but Aaron and Ph Design made the experience easy to navigate. They listened to exactly what we wanted, and made our visions a reality within our means. We've lived in our home for over a year now, and could not be happier. We had help every step of the way, with every decision when we needed it, but at the same time the freedom to dream up some "wish list" items that may have been out of the norm. The actual build of the house is astounding as well, we live in a neighborhood with a mix of builders and the work/quality we received is unparalleled. Within our first year, there have only minor items that needed to be fixed due to normal settling and those were handed quickly and with great care.
