Clean & Fresh Carpets

I contacted this company regarding colour correction to a wool carpet and initially had a helpful conversation. I was quoted £300 and told they aim for a 90–95% colour match and that there would be no charge if the treatment didn't work. Before proceeding, I asked for a general explanation of what type of treatment would be carried out and clarification of what would happen regarding payment if the improvement was significantly below the stated 90–95%.I completely understood that they wouldn't want to disclose a specialist process step-by-step, but I wasn't asking for that — I simply wanted to understand broadly what would be applied/done to my carpet before agreeing to a £300 treatment. Unfortunately, I felt my questions were interpreted as me trying to obtain specialist information and as requiring a ‘perfect’ result, despite me specifically saying I would be happy with a 90–95% improvement. The company ultimately declined to take on the job. Of course they're entitled to do that, but I found the communication unnecessarily defensive and was disappointed with how a fairly straightforward customer enquiry was handled.EDIT FOLLOWING THE OWNERS RESPONSE:This response from the company proves my point about the ridiculous nature of replies I received when asking what products they would use on my expensive wool carpet. I had no interest in knowing their exact techniques/names of products - I just wanted a rough idea of WHAT the treatment involved to justify a £300 cost. All I was told was that they would use UV light which didn’t really explain anything or give me understanding of the price quoted. Once again their response is accusatory and is now insinuating that I may have used the info they provided to DIY my own treatment? It’s honestly laughable.I don’t plan to waste another minute of mytime on this but please be assured that I have zero interest in knowing your specific techniques or becoming a carpet cleaner - I just wanted to know what would be done to repair the carpet, it’s really as simple as that.I’m also entitled to leave a review of the interaction I received and rate it how I see fit - that’s what this platform is for and hopefully this prevents someone else having their intentions questioned.
