Ipo is now four and Bobbye has trained him since he was 8 weeks old. He is an emotional support dog for Porter High school and everyone there loves him. In 2009, my daughter came to me and said she wanted a basset hound. Me, being the naive parent I was, said of course! That was a great idea! A few months later we were the proud pet parents of the worst basset hound ever. She growled at us and bit me more than once. Determined to make this work I got her into training. Enter Bobbye J. Smith! She truly changed our lives with Lil! We trained with her at one of those big box stores for a bit, but our sweet Lil was in training for about three years so when Bobbye left, so did we. She was able to watch his videos and let me know that he was not aggressive and that he just wanted very badly to have a friend. It made me confident that I could tell the foster that he was not aggressive and make her comfortable bringing him home. Turns out, of course, Bobbye was right, and Duke calmed down quite a bit! He also found his forever home! Bobbye also helped in a lot of different ways by making assessments, answering questions, helping new adopters with their questions (which helped the dogs keep their new homes!), and with other things that helped dogs get into their new homes and with rescues. Bobbye is terrific!
