I cannot stress enough how POSITIVE of an experience this was, despite all my anxiety and fear surrounding my dog, Fitz. He had clearly swallowed something and needed an emergency gastrostomy, and the team at COVE was as assuaging, kind, and patient as they could possibly be. Every question I had was answered and at times clarified thoroughly. Every concern I had about finances, recovery, and the surgery itself was addressed with the utmost confidence and support--they even refunded me PROMPTLY (SAME DAY!!!) for services they didn't end up doing. I received regular updates every couple of hours on Fitz, offering more support even in the middle of the night. What's more is that the staff checked in on ME, asking if I was okay, if I needed a snack or a blanket. Fitz even had to stay overnight and one of the techs there even sent me photos of her petting him, which allayed my fears of him being alone and scared.Compared to MedVet (horribly expensive and lacking in support) and OSU (always busy and long wait times), this is not only the more economical option, but the quality of care is STAR-WORTHY. I was there for about five hours but never once felt like I was waiting too long. Two weeks out, my pup is healing well, and although I hope never to have to go here again under such circumstances, this would be my FIRST CHOICE for emergency pet care. Organized, prompt and effective veterinary services. I was impressed and felt confident with the care and recommendations. Never felt that with another significant competitor. First time with Clintonville but had great experience with the Delaware office as well. A welcome experience in what is otherwise a stressful time.

Our Veterinarian, Hartschuh, referred us to COVE for an ultrasound on our Minpin. The COVE staff truly could not have been better. The COVE Vet that performed testing and surgery on our baby sincerely cared about her personally and showed compassion to us. In addition, COVE’s remote support, with immediate attention upon contact, was provided to us throughout her subsequent recovery and recuperation at home. DR Hartschuh and staff along with the COVE Vet and staff are a Godsend.

I brought my dog here because she was sick and getting worse and having discharge that was worsening after her first heat cycle that lasted 7 weeks. We had approximately 3 weeks with no drainage and then she started having issues. Being a large breed dog it’s always been recommended by vets to let them have 2 heat cycles and be 2 years old before alternating them. So we’ve always followed that. I contacted my home vet multiple times that day and they were unable to help. Thankfully their secretary told me about here. We walked in and didn’t wait too long before they took her back. Don’t get me wrong it is an ER so it operates like one. The sickest and most emergent goes first. We were there for 4-5 hours. The veterinarian and techs were very thorough and made sure everything was correct. They made sure everything was properly explained and they even had payment options to apply for. My dog ended up staying and needing surgery. They contacted me throughout and were able to update me when I called as well. I will say even though it’s 2 hours away I’d come back if I needed too. I would also recommend this place, it’s nice that people still sit down with you and explain the situation and options and give your their advice since they deal with this daily. Ultimately they leave it up to you.

Hands down the BEST staff I’ve ever encountered, when I told the vet tech I didn’t think my kitten needed a certain test he didn’t push me and agreed. Love this place so much! I 10/10 recommend!

We have used COVE's services three times with two different pets over the years. Each time they have have been thoughtful and caring, taking the time to ensure we understand everything we need. They are upfront with charges, explaining what they need to do and go through the options. I appreciate the honesty and transparency. We would not hesitate to contact them again should we need emergency services or after hour care.
