Have you always wanted to start hip hop dancing but not sure where to begin?? I can’t recommend Groove Zone, and their teachers enough!! I started at one of their adult absolute beginner trial classes in Kingsgrove, and have since done their Level 2/3 courses / some casual classes this year in Alexandria. My dance skills and ability to learn new choreography have improved so much in only a few months! I love it so much and am excited to continue for many years to come! Everyone at Groove Zone is so welcoming. It is a super supportive dance school/community, and caters for absolute beginners to opportunities for higher level skill development with intermediate class options. If you’re nervous, I encourage you to go with a friend if you can. But even go solo and you’ll be put at ease by the teachers and have opportunities to make new friends too. I recently completed the Absolute Beginners hip-hop course at Groove Zone in Alexandria, and I couldn’t recommend it more. As someone with little to no dance experience, I was a bit nervous walking in, but the instructors created such a welcoming and supportive environment from day one.Everything was broken down into easy-to-follow steps, and they took the time to make sure everyone felt comfortable before moving on. I never felt judged or left behind, which made learning so much more enjoyable and helped build my confidence each week.If you’ve ever wanted to try hip-hop but have been too intimidated to start, this is the perfect place. A fantastic experience and I’ll definitely be back!

Monday 7:30pm Hip Hop Absolute Beginners at Kingsgrove with James Deane is honestly one of the highlights of my week!As someone with absolutely no coordination and very little natural dance ability, this class is perfect. The pace is great for beginners, there's always plenty of laughs and nobody takes themselves too seriously. James is super patient, encouraging and makes the class really enjoyable, even when we're all trying to work out which arm or leg is meant to move next!The smaller class size makes it much easier to follow along and it's a surprisingly good workout while still being heaps of fun. If you are thinking about giving hip hop a go but you are worried you'll be terrible at it, trust me...you'll fit right in!! 😂 Looking forward to next term!

Such a fun and supportive environment with really talented instructors. I've been to Groove Zone coming up to 5 terms over the last 3 years - started at Marrickville with Anna and Phillipe now at Alexandria with James. Fantastic energy and positive vibes, no judgement at all just fun and you get to meet some like minded fun people too! I definitely recommend anyone to give it a go - go to a trial class and check it out - you won't regret it!

I really enjoyed learning hip-hop with teacher James Deane at Groove Zone Sydney in Alexandria at the AMPA Studios. Having the option of a free trial to get the taste and meeting really friendly people along with doing pop-up classes and short courses with the opportunity to show off what we learned in class and occasionally in public performance was a thrill and better yet to go back and watch what was captured on the Groove Zone YouTube channel; a-great way to celebrate and learn more. I’m definitely going to continue coming to Groove Zone

I had a blast in the 8 week music video course, at Groove Zone in Kingsgrove. Teacher James Dean was so welcoming, and created a fun, team atmosphere. I left every class smiling and excited for the next one. I have enrolled in the next terms course and am enjoying the pop up classes during the holiday break!I definitely recommend joining Groove Zone!

This class is for any age, and even if you haven’t danced before. Day one/week 1 most starters were stiff and un-coordinated but by the last class - (class8), you could see everyone moving there body in ways they probably hadn’t moved before. Great for your brain to remember sequences and enjoyment in grooving to music again. If you missed a class a video of the sequence was available so you could keep up the next week. It leaves you wanting to do the next level. The teacher was Amazeballs! So much fun and just a cool thing to learn

I was nervous and self-doubtful starting in Level 1 but it’s honestly been so much fun. The teachers (Anna, Maria, Shannon and Phillipe) are amazing and the community is super wholesome. Highly recommend for feeling more comfortable in your body, getting weekly exercise and making new friends :)

Groove Zone with Anna Que was such an amazing experience!!! This is my first time doing hip hop dance and it brings me so much joy. I love the performances at the end of each term with great video editing. I will highly recommend Groove Zone in the Kingsgrove dance studio. Parking is super easy.

I started in the absolute beginner class. I am in my 30s and never did dance as a child or at all. Before I joined the class, I thought there was no chance of ever dancing but my instructor (Anna) was fantastic at helping me learn the fundamentals and basic rhythm. It also helped my confidence as I met so many new people who were also absolute beginners. Highly recommend!

I started in Level 1 at Groove Zone with Yolanda and Phillipe and quickly moved up to Level 2 with Phillipe within the term! They were both very supportive with my change of levels and recommended it. I really appreciated their flexibility with this!The community and teachers energy at groove zone is also something I’ve never experienced before in my 15+ years of dancing!I was driving over an 1hr to make these weekly classes for this reason.
