Dr Rob’s hands on approach ensured I had a good balance of manipulation to find muscular problems, release them and identify weaknesses that needed to be rectified. His in office and at home exercises are HARD, but as an athlete, they are effective and were incredibly helpful in waking up muscles that were asleep. Dr. Berghorn is an amazing physical therapist. As a runner for many years, I have endured injuries and have been to quite a few PTs, and I can say I have never had this level of care provided. Note that I am also a health care provider, so I am critical of may providers. Dr. Berghorn listens to his patients and spends over an hour working hands on with them, not like in other settings where the patient is put on a stationary bike or given an ice pack while waiting for the PT to spend a few minutes with the patient. Within the first 3 visits he was able to really diagnosis my specific imbalance and where I thought I had a major severe injury to my spine, turns out it was a muscle imbalance which triggered certain muscles to be hyperactive and others were hypoactive and ultimately caused the severe pain and poor mobility that I was experiencing. As I began his treatment approach I was already feeling a slight difference within the first 3 weeks and by the 3 month mark, I was actually able to return to lifting. By the 6 month mark of his treatment plan, I was then able to return to gymnastics. At this time, I have no limitations in my lifting (improved my PRs from pre-injury) and I have returned to full form in gymnastics without needing to hold back. I’m an active woman who came to Rob following 8 months of chronic pain starting with foot and lower back pain which was compounded by other medical issues causing limited flexibility and strength in my entire body. Thankfully my medical issues have consistently improved but my body, for lack of a better word, was a mess. Since I started physical therapy with Rob and with consistent effort on my part to follow the home program, that he designed, I have made huge gains.
