fit20
I kept seeing adverts for Fit 20 and driving past the Moortown one and wondered what it actually was.
After having had a hip replacement in May 2022, I decided that I needed to do something to increase my strength and fitness without joining a gym (been there, done that, several times) so booked for an introductory session to see what it was all about and was ready to pooh-pooh the 20 minutes a week theory.
I received a warm welcome from Kieran who explained how it worked and took me through each of the machines - it was definitely looking more appealing and something suited to my needs.
I joined up and continued for 6 months (on a 1-1 or 1-2 basis) and started to notice an improvement in my strength, which was good until I required a knee replacement on January of this year 😩😩😩so had to postpone the sessions until I was sufficiently recovered to continue.
I returned in April and picked it up again. Although a little of my strength had understandably dropped a bit, it wasn’t long before I could see a marked improvement once again - so much so that my physiotherapist and chiropractor commented on my straight posture and how well I was recovering. I have also dropped 2 stone (with healthy eating & Fit20)
I love my weekly sessions with the lovely Nicola who is just the best - she is so very encouraging, friendly and talks you through every step of the way so you absolutely use every muscle correctly - In 20 minutes a week!!!!
I would encourage anyone who hates the gym but wants to improve their strength and posture to give it a go.
Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it
