I had an incredibly satisfying experience here, and words can’t even begin to express how much I enjoyed it. I have celiac disease, and they take allergy precautions, especially gluten precautions, very seriously. Our waiter mentioned that his mother, who owns the restaurant, is gluten-free herself, which was reassuring. Most of the menu items were already gluten-free, but they ensure there’s no cross-contamination. They have a designated gluten-free fryer for any fried items that are also gluten-free. We started with the idukki gold for our appetizer which was delicious. I tried the dhaba lamb curry, which was absolutely phenomenal. The gluten-free naan was equally incredible. My husband said it tasted just like the regular naan, and he ordered the butter chicken with garlic naan. The service was exceptional. This is the best Indian food we’ve ever had, and we’ll definitely be returning.

I've been to Rivayat twice now, with some time between my visits, and both times the food, flavors, and service were unmatched. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for delicious Indian food and some really amazing flavor combinations. The restaurant itself is also beautiful, stylish and inviting, but nothing feels overdone. Everything comes together perfectly, from the atmosphere to the food and service. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

The food was outstanding especially the Gunpowder Dosa and Lamb Mappas which were fantastic! Our server, Ahbi was very attentive and explained the menu when asked! If we lived in Charleston we’d go back every other week!

What a perfect restaurant! The lighting the ambience and the food is delicious! We split a butter chicken and still had enough for another meal! The butter naan was delicious and flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. We will definitely be back!
