The food was good, but unfortunately the customer service really took away from the experience.I stopped in to pick up a carryout order today (Sunday). When I approached the counter, the employee seemed noticeably uninterested in helping me. I mentioned that I was there to pick up a carryout order, and he simply said “okay.” He returned with the bag, set it on the counter, and walked away without saying anything, no “thank you,” “have a good day,” or even asking if I needed anything else.When I said “thanks,” he responded with “yup” as he walked away.I understand that everyone has an off day, and I’m not expecting over-the-top service, but a basic level of friendliness and appreciation goes a long way. The food was good enough that I’m giving 4 stars, but the interaction definitely left a bad impression.There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Sioux Falls, and customers have plenty of choices about where to spend their money. I hope the management understands that making customers feel welcomed and appreciated is just as important as serving good food

The choice to eat here started out randomly ( burgers...chinese...mexican). We decided on Mexican and selected Plaza Azteca due to its proximity to our hotel. All I can say is Wow. I chose the Burrito Pastor and my wife selected the Chimichangas Texanas Steak.Both meals were exceptionally great tasting. Entrées were generous and the sides of fried rice and refried beans were a great complement.This place will be a destination restaurant next time we get to Sioux Falls.Highly recommended.

Fantastic! Modern Mexican with a huge menu. Enjoyed the ribeye tacos and churros. Service was great! This will be my Sioux Falls stop for Mexican.
