This is one that if I could give it less than 5 stars but more than 4, I would. Went here on a Saturday evening in October and the place was fairly busy. They have both an indoor seating area and an outdoor area and I found myself wishing we'd gone for the outdoor area, even though I typically prefer an indoor venue simply because we ended up seated directly under the AC vents and it was positively blasting out cold air so I ended up going to get my jacket from the car and wearing it all evening. The food was quite good though. I started with a bowl of beef stew for an appetizer and it was quite good (except for the entire bay leaf that I accidently tried to eat) though it did have an unusual flavor I couldn't quite identify. For dinner I went with the braised boneless ribs with a rich brown gravy. It was wonderfully tender and very tasty. I substituted the mashed potatoes for the grits and they were quite good as well. The veggie was carrots and turnips - I ate the carrots and they were quite good. Desert was a credible but not otherwise special crème brûlée topped with a selection of berries. Others at the table were similarly pleased with their meals though one member of our party ordered the brie as an appetizer which came with a single small piece of bread to spread the brie on, which was far too small. We asked for another small piece of bread which, frankly, is what it should come with anyway. Surprisingly, that little 2 inch round of bread was, we found when the bill arrived, an extra $2, which is both a little much and wasn't disclosed when it was asked for. I'm ok with a bit of slowness, especially f a place is making everything fresh, but overall this was a bit more than that. Drinks went empty without refills for a bit longer than they should have and there was quite a bit of time between courses, even though they'd been ordered together. She even gave me a very honest opinion about a particular dish when I was ordering, steering me towards a different salad for my second course.If you are in to beer, wine, or liquor, the Brown Dog Cafe bar was quite impressive. I'm not the biggest fan of brunch menus typically due to the overwhelming amount of eggs that are typically on the, but Brown Dog had a nice variety of offerings, so I agreed to give it a try.Inside and outside dining options are available, both with a view overlooking some of the parks main features. We settled into our high-backed booth and enjoyed the views on a pretty but chilly morning. I started with a Kentucky mule, a favorite of mine that combines bourbon, lime, mint, ginger syrup, and soda. There are also a variety of other craft cocktails that are worth a try!As I mentioned earlier there is a good variety on the brunch menu, including brick oven pizzas. I went with the Flyin' Hawaiian with house smoked local pork belly, pineapple, red onion, house BBQ sauce, and local cheddar cheese curd ($16). This was a really good pizza and the toppings were of the highest quality.My wife went with the Monte Cristo, which was great since we actually shared these plates. This sandwich combines ham, turkey, and Swiss between grilled French Toast and served with fresh fruit ($13). This was also really good, though the sourdough bread made for French Toast that was a little lighter than I was expecting. Something a little more dense might really make this excellent.Our kids were happy with the chocolate chip pancake ($8) and the breakfast plate with one egg, bacon, ham, or turkey sausage, and toast ($6). The dinner menu looks fairly pricey making Brown Dog a candidate for a suburban date night, though we are much more likely to enjoy brunch or lunch again in the future. Less

The omelette had a tart goat cheese that went well with the mushroom filling and small side of arugula with a sweet citrusy dressing. The monte cristo was piled thick with turkey and ham and although a little "wet" with syrup and steam, so be it. Its meant to be sloppy. And Blanton's. We have had dinner at Brown Dog Cafe and we have had Chef Shawn cater a party at our home. I was immensely impressed with both experiences. Both at the restaurant, as well as at our party, the food was outstanding, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent. I have some dietary restrictions, and Chef Shawn was able to create a menu for 18 people that met all of my dietary restrictions without compromising on quality or flavor. This is the third year we have hosted this party, and each year we have had a different high end Cincinnati restaurant cater it. Our guests agreed this year's party with Brown Dog Cafe was by far the best. Chef Shawn is very knowledgeable, responsive and easy to work with. Their menu is creative and interesting, with outstanding flavor. I highly recommend Brown Dog Cafe. Less

This should be on your list of places to visit if you are a foodie! They have a great wait staff and that hamburger is everything it is reported to be. It's a bit expensive but good.
