Wonderful, Joyful, Educational. If you are wanting to learn to Salsa dance, or perhaps you are like me; not of Latin heritage, yet you “absolutely love” salsa music and how it moves your soul. Joel Salsa is THE SPOT! I am just beginning month number two (four Saturdays per month only, 12noon - 1:30pm) and I am very pleased with the professionalism, the atmosphere of friendly clientele, the structure, and the instructors. I have experienced three instructors - Joel was one of them. With the exception of “one” (do not recall his name). This instructor “did not” make me feel at ease, comfortable, or willing to learn. Everything that Saturday, to me, was “unproductive. Meaning; the instruction this day was all too fast! Unlike Celia (If I recall her name correctly) and Joel, the instruction from these two has been “outstanding”! The attention to detail with regard to the audience was excellent! My primary reason for this review is to highlight the “Salsa Online Classes” that are available for purchase when you sign up for the class. The in person classes per week, you learn quite a bit, which is awesome. If you’re like me however, you may want to perfect some particular turns and partner moves learned in these classes. Sure, while you’re in the class you’re encouraged to ask questions about anything learned - and I have at times, with great responses. But, sometimes you want that personal time - and that is the beauty of the online classes (at a discount by the way when you join your first class), ie; when I wanted to perfect my left turn I was able to play that particular video multiple times at home until I was feeling really good about my performance with this move, among other videos that I revisited several times. I absolutely recommend this business because if your like me and have been moving your body to salsa for years, yet had zero structure LOL…. I now have structure :) - and when I return to Costa Rica I’m certain my girlfriend will be amazed!!!! Because we are forever dancing when I visit there, BUT I had zero structure 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ Joel Salsa NYC… Kudos!!!! Less
