We were introduced to Unicus Construction through a kitchen and living room renovation led by Live Oak Builders. We were impressed by Live Oak, but frankly we were kind of blown away by Unicus Construction. Freddy's amazing team of skilled craftsmen were on point at every turn and able to pivot and find great solutions to the inevitable unexpected problems. We had a significant amount of structural and electrical work to be done in an older home, so we needed folks with experience and expertise. And, wow, did we get exactly that and then some. The work was all fully permitted with the City and they passed each inspection easily: so much peace of mind behind the walls and ceiling! Instead of cutting corners like many contractors, they went above and beyond, especially with our challenging concrete floors and tile work. We lived on site during the whole renovation so the team's positive attitudes, punctual work hours, professionalism, and cleanliness were a welcome bonus to an arduous process. Freddy was always easily reachable, responsive, and able to coordinate work by the necessary tradespeople in the right sequence quickly. We've worked with several companies getting this house into shape, but Unicus is the only one I'm willing to recommend. We absolutely love the results! They really brought our vision to life. We hope we have the chance to work with them again.

Freddy and his team are the best. I’ve used them for several projects at my condo for many years now, both large and small, and I’ve never been disappointed. They are great to work with. I used them to renovate my bathroom, which was basically a complete gut job, and it turned out beautifully and stayed on budget. I get complimented on it whenever I have guests over. The communication is great too, Freddy always does a wonderful job answering all of my questions, discussing all the various options, and is always upfront and straightforward about potential issues or costs. Just recently I had a minor emergency with my front door not being able to open/shut (due to foundation issues). I was panicking, texted Freddy on a Sunday evening and he got someone out first thing Monday morning who fixed it immediately. We asked Unicus Construction to give us an estimate to remodel both our small guest bathroom and the primary bathroom in our home. Freddy Pacheco came to the house, surveyed both bathrooms, asked questions about what we wanted, made suggestions, took measurements and reviewed what we wanted. He said he would get an estimate to us within a week.Within several days Freddy gave us a complete detailed estimate of the scope of work and costs to do it. He followed up with a phone call to answer questions that we might have.Because the estimate was SO complete, thorough and transparent and the price was fair, we awarded the contract to Unicus Construction.Freddy and his team came to the house to measure everything again and gave us a list of materials that we would need to purchase and have ready for the project. On the day construction began, Freddy and his team came in and covered all flooring and areas that were not being worked on to protect him. The team from Unicus worked diligently through the project. They kept us informed of all progress. The communication was first rate. The crew were incredibly tidy and worked to be as un-intrusive as possible. It was clear there was a high level of pride in their workmanship. This project included complete demolition of bathrooms, including removing floor tiles. New vanities were installed, walls and ceilings were patched, textured and painted. New tile was installed on floors and walls. All bathroom fixtures, plumbing and electrical fixtures were installed. It was a complete remodel.We are absolutely delighted with the results! We have two beautiful bathrooms! Freddy and the crew did everything they said they would and they kept to their timelines. I would highly recommend Freddy & Unicus Construction for their professionalism, quality of work and timeliness. You can count on them to do the job right, at a reasonable cost and beautifully finished. They redid a primary shower with classic marble inlays and made it a zero entry shower for ease of use for my husband who uses a shower chair. Freddy is a great person and walked me through ordering the tile and quantities, and facilitated delivery to save me extra delivery fee costs, and ordering the new frameless glass door and surrounding for the walk in shower. In the toilet room , they removed the door and trim to assist transfers in and out from the wheelchair - even repainting the remaining trim to make the room aesthetically pleasing and cohesive. I’m looking forward to our next project with them in 2025.
