We are at the beginning of our training journey, but I know we’ll succeed because of the Agoge Team.We are only on day 1 of our dog Chase being home after a 4 week board & train for obedience to help with reactivity. I wanted to write a review already because the level of care and support from Abe, our dog’s trainer, and from Brian are beyond what I ever expected. Their support in training Chase, but also ensuring I learn what I need to succeed alongside my dog are the reason I will recommend this team to anyone who needs dog training. This isn’t a program of your dog goes to learn commands/obedience, you get shown what to do, and an “okay good luck”. This program is a lifetime commitment to you and your dog from the Agoge team. They truly care.The board & train 4 weeks for us: I expected to have anxiety the entire time Chase was away from home, not knowing what was going on. The drop off meeting with Brian immediately put me at ease. He took the time to get to know all the ins and outs of Chase and the issues we were having. I felt I had the time to get to know Brian and I didn’t feel rushed through the process. We received weekly update videos explaining what they’ve been working on over the week and how our dog was progressing. There were a few occasions I had to reach out to the team over the 4 weeks and they responded quickly to help each time. My husband and I can’t say enough good things about this entire experience. I am incredibly grateful I found them to help us.

Agoge K9 was an 11/10 for our family. They did a fantastic job. Our dog is now less nervous, follows the rules (most of the time!) and is able to interact with the outside world in a much better way. The Agoge team was responsive, took the time to explain concepts and taught us to be much better for our dog (it’s often the dog owners who need the teaching, at least in my case!). Highly recommended.Update: we now have also brought our wild and crazy but awesome golden retriever puppy to Agoge K9 to build a strong foundation from the get go. Another 11/10 job. Wish we did this back in time with all our dogs.

I highly recommend Brian and his staff! They are professional, kind and definitely know what they are doing. When I found Agoge K9, I was ready to rehome my 3 year old working line German Shepard. I was at my wits end when Brian called me right back after I left him a voicemail. He could hear in my voice how stressed out I was and even reached out on a Sunday to talk to me. I was so grateful!I sent my dog to Agoge for a board and train and he came back a rockstar! I appreciated how patient and calm they were with him and how he seemed very confidant and relaxed when I went to pick him up. Ashley and Brian worked with me for hours that day. I am continuing to work on being a good leader with their help.I love that can go anytime for a lesson and Brian always gets back to me if I have a question. With Agoge's team in my corner I feel confident that I can grow into an amazing relationship with my GSD.

I initially reached out to Brian at Agoge K9 due to my GS Pup's dog reactivity. After discussing their training programs, methods and touring their facility in person, my girl went off to puppy school for four weeks. Each week I received video updates from Ashley regarding her progress and the tentative training plan for the following week. Her stay at Agoge K9 has boosted her confidence, reduced animal reactivity and provided a polished general obedience that she was lacking before her stay. Hands down, the investment in her training has been worth every penny and I would not hesitate to bring any four legged companions to them in the future!

I took my very energetic black German Shepherd to Agoge based on a recommendation from another dog owner. Ashley worked with her daily during the 6 week board and train. I missed Velvet desperately but what a difference it has made in her behavior and our day to day interactions! She no longer requires 100% attention 100% of the time (though she will take it if you let her!). She is much improved on her basic commands - she loves to work but just being able to relax and be calm with her is the best of all. I look forward to learning more about wilderness tracking with her and Agoge. Brian is the man if you want top tier training for your high drive dog!

Agoge K9 did an amazing job with my dog, Lewis, during his four-week obedience training! I saw such a positive change in his behavior — they really know what they’re doing. I also love that they offer boarding for graduates of their program. It gives me peace of mind knowing he’s staying somewhere familiar and with people who understand him. Highly recommend them to anyone with a hyper, sweet, crazy puppy like mine. They truly make a difference!

Great staff and great training! Ashley and Brian were very responsive to everything we asked. We had our dog at a prior training facility that didn’t correct his behavior or get to the root cause of his anxiety. Brian was extremely educated with bully breeds and knew exactly what we needed. We’ve had our boy back home for a few months now and couldn’t be happier with his transformation. Highly recommend!!

Agoge K9 did a outstanding job with my Belgian mel / Dutch Shepherd ,puppy Who came home with a completely different attitude, demeanor, and as a joy to spend time with now On point with all of her commands And a joy to take out in public, the trainers were outstanding, very detailed oriented, and took the time to explain every different phase of the learning process and how to maintain the training and behavior And always there for the next level of training or skills were trying to accomplish and the facility was outstanding very clean well laid out And when training wasn’t going on, had activities and exercise for the dog to partake in so it was like a doggy vacation as well as training, couldn’t say enough great things about the place or the people and staff involved all dedicated and highly skilled I must for any dog owner and their fur friend

The employees there are awesome, Ashley did an outstanding job training our dog Scrump. The lifetime follow ups is amazing, every other trainers only do 2-3 follow up appointments if needed but not Agoge if we ever need one they are just a phone call away

I cannot recommend them enough! I was very hesitant to send Duke to a trainer for boarding, but after my first phone call with Brian, I felt so comfortable and confident this would be a good fit. Brian and his team are so knowledgeable about every aspect of dogs. Duke spent over a year on a very high dose of prozac for OCD regarding chasing his shadows. I spent several months not able to dim any lights without Duke going absolutely crazy, and often would have to keep him on a leash to keep him calm inside if lights were dimmed at all. He also had developed some reactivity issues and would often lunge and pull on his leash wanting to go at other dogs. Brian was super knowledgeable about the psychology of dogs and what was actually going on inside Duke's brain regarding these issues, and was able to give me so much advice. Duke is now home and is fully off his medication since going to Brian and Ashley. They made the process so easy and made things easy for me to understand when bringing him home as well. He now does not have any shadow issues and we get so many compliments on walks because he is able to follow all commands and will sit when prompted when another dog is coming towards us with zero issues at all. This was 100% worth it!

Brian and the entire Agoge team have transformed my understanding of dogs! My relationship with my dogs now is life changing. The training was top notch and the training I received to handle my dogs was amazing. I couldn’t recommend a more caring and knowledgeable experience!

Wow! What a difference a few weeks makes. My dogs have come home happy and obedient. They love to go on walks and I finally enjoy walking my dogs and them not pulling me down the street! They place(stay) for long periods of time and don't lose their minds when our doorbell rings. Finally, dogs with calm-ability! Am so happy we chose you guys to teach us how it is done. In January, I brought home an 8-week-old Goldendoodle named Koa, determined to have him fully trained. By the third week, I realized I didn’t know much about puppies, let alone how to train one. The lack of understanding between Koa and me created a disconnect that I knew would eventually impact our bond and his trust in me as his leader. I remember one morning sitting in my car, crying in frustration, questioning whether getting a puppy was the right decision. That's when I found Agoge through a Google search. I made a call, and I truly believe that finding them was a blessing for both me and my puppy. Brian returned my call within 15 minutes and spent a long time listening to my concerns and answering all my questions. I was hesitant about sending Koa to a board and train program and felt guilty for not being able to train him myself. Sensing my worries, Brian invited me to tour the facility. That same day, I visited and observed how the dogs were being trained. Brian took the time to educate me on what to expect, as well as learning opportunities for myself while Koa was in training. It was eye-opening and reassuring. No one had made me feel as comfortable as the trainers at Agoge, and I knew in my heart I was in the right place.Every week, I received updates from Koa's trainer, Ashley, who I admire for her patience and compassion in training these amazing dogs. We would correspond after each weekly update and she would answer questions and give updates on how Koa was doing. After three weeks, on go home day, I spent around 4 hours learning how to continue Koa’s training at home. I was amazed at the progress Koa had made, including improvements in behaviors like nipping/biting, not following basic commands, biting the leash, and pulling. Agoge made sure that by the time I left, I felt confident not only as Koa’s owner but as his leader. I know I couldn’t have achieved this without their help, and I’m excited to continue working with them throughout Koa’s journey.

We re-homed an 8-month old German shepherd recently and quickly realized that he was a handful! I contacted Brian at Agoge K9, and we couldn’t be happier. After a full discussion of the training program, we left Bru at their nice facility with some apprehension. Over the next 5 weeks, we were sent weekly video updates and were able to message them with questions and comments. The pickup time was arranged, and we were so excited to see our dog in action, as Ashley and Brian made us very comfortable in showing us how to use the tools for his work at home. Bru is still the lovable dog that he was, yet now he’s very manageable and obedient. It is a major investment in time and money, but has been worth every penny for us!

The thought of dropping my puppy off for training for 5 weeks was absolutely terrifying, but after meeting the staff at Agoge K9 I knew I had nothing to worry about. My cane corso is so well behaved now and I am very happy with my results. They are a little more pricy than most but after seeing how my dog acted when I picked him up, I understood why. You will not find better training in TN for your dog and you won’t find anyone that will care for your bog like these people do. Extremely grateful for them. Highly recommend!

We had such a great experience with Brian and his team for our golden retriever, Dolly. We were unsure if she was the right fit for our family and we were heartbroken at the thought of having to rehome her due to excessive energy, food aggression and extreme excitability around our toddler. After four weeks at Agoge, we’re so impressed with Dolly’s improvement and we feel confident in our skills that Brian and Justin taught us to be able to continue to work with her. Can’t recommend Agoge enough!

Brian and his trainer Ashley did such a great job training my very impulsive 10 month old Bernese mountain dog. I used to struggle taking him out for walks/use the bathroom and I was constantly getting pulled yanked around. Now that he’s home going on walks is actually pleasant and taking him to the bathroom is a breeze! I’ve also noticed that he is overall less mischievous around the house and doesn’t look to get into things, he is more settled and less restless at home which has lowered my anxiety too. Brian’s facilities are very clean and spacious. As much as I didn’t want to leave my dog for four weeks, I felt very at ease while he was there knowing he was in good hands! I especially loved the weekly video updates! I’m looking forward to our follow up visit next month.

This was the best thing for our GSP and our family! We will never have another dog without them going through Agoge K9 program. Shout out to our trainer Justin, we appreciate your work with her! We just got back from a trip to Lowe’s and she was amazing, she remained loose leash the whole time. People were commenting on what a good dog our 9 month old German Shorthaired pointer is! I know our Fern will have a better life with this obedience training. She will be able to run and explore with our peace of mind that she will return on command, no doubt. Thanks Agoge K9!

I can not say enough positive things about Brian, Ashley and the rest of the Agoge team! My dog was having some reactive issues and I was feeling hopeless. We sent Oliver to board and train at Agoge and he came back a different dog in all the best ways! Oliver had some trouble settling in to our house and Brian and Ashley drove an hour to come and do an in house session. Since that session, we haven’t had any issues. Highly recommend this program!!

Brain & his team were absolutely the best answer to helping us with our 2 year old dog Bella! We started having behavioral issues with Bella that got to a point that we couldn't have both our dogs in the same room for fear of Bella reacting and going after her brother Bruce. Bella had been through another board & train program before but it only helped for a short time and then Bella started to backslide. After multiple Google searches, we found Agoge K9 LLC. After a VERY detailed initial consultation call with Brian, we took Bella out to his facility for her board & train. I was extremely anxious going into this but after speaking with Brian in person during the drop off meeting and getting to inspect his facility both my fiancé and I left feeling very confident. A major factor for me, was the fact that Brain actually explained in detail what could be causing Bella's behavioral issues and how they would be working with her to resolve the issues. They gave us weekly update videos to let us know how our girl was doing and explained the techniques and training methods they were using with Bella. The amount of skill, knowledge and dedication Brain and his team have with all their clients is beyond amazing. Once Bella finally came home we felt that we had the proper tools and guidance needed to help Bella thrive at home and also interact with her brother Bruce in a positive way. After being home for a while we had a follow up visit with Brian which helped us make sure that we are keeping up with the training methods properly and he also provided us with the guidance on how to continue building on the foundations put in place. I'm so very happy that we found Agoge K9 LLC and will recommend them to anyone!

Wow!!! That’s all I can say. Brian and his entire team were extremely responsive, understanding, & invested in helping us learn how to better communicate with our puppy Charlie. He is a completely different animal now. Brian took way too much time conversing with us about his behavior and ours lol. It was extremely informative and helpful. I would highly recommend using Agoge K9 for any training and/or boarding needs you have. They are top notch in my book!

We searched for just the right school for our new dog for weeks. Agoge K-9 answered all our questions, talked us through initial puppy behaviors to work on prior to the dog going to their facility. With Agoge k9 they were focused on the dog and training, it wasn’t about the money. After our pup spent 3 weeks there he’s well on his way to bring a great family member. The staff are knowledgeable and took time to explain the why behind their training and are invested in our dog’s success.

We adopted a dog off of Facebook that ended up having some social shortcomings that we made worse by not having the skills or knowledge to help him with his aggression issues. On top of that, we had to move into an apartment earlier this year, making it impossible to avoid dogs and people. Walks were painfully stressful; he'd already put teeth on us and some of our family, and we knew the liability was only going to grow.After reaching out to multiple local board and train options, Agoge got back with us and won us over on several fronts. First, they didn't immediately attempt to have us get some sort of zen medication so that Major would be "manageable" at training. Second, they took all the time we needed to answer questions and provide us with quite a bit of canine education before we ever met or dropped our dog off. Third, they sent multiple video updates so that we could see Major's improvement while he was away.In the time that they had him, they got him to a place where he was calmer and able to be around strangers and other dogs while out in public, fortified his obedience training, and have been available for any follow-up questions we had. When we picked him up, they took their time to explain every angle of his training and what we needed to do to keep things rolling at home.It's been months since we picked him up, and our quality of life is so much better! We walk him without concerns that he'll be able to hurt someone or their pet, and our family can now visit without being afraid of him. He will still sometimes react to dogs or people, but we can always trace that back to what we did wrong leading up to the incident. We've truly been set up for success by Brian and his team, and they genuinely care and are passionate about what they do as well as the people and dogs they help. 100% recommend and am so grateful for what they've done for us!

Did the boarding/training program with our bully breed who had a lot of issues with “bullying” to get his way. He was a much more comfortable/relaxed dog after their program and now we have great tools to use at home. We also use them for boarding and have been really happy with how they care for him! Definitely worth using if you need help with your doggo!

Simba and Nala learned their commands to sit, down, come, place and heel. Simba needed extra attention due to his personality and Brian and staff were very patient with him. I really like the weekly progress videos.

So glad to have found such experts to work with my Malinois x German Shepard. The ongoing support with training and kennel stays is an added plus. Highly recommend!
