The stylist Sharon did it all and my hair looks and feels fantastic! My hair is currently wavy thin & fine, low density (2b). I highly recommend Sharon for anyone with wavy hair. She listened to what I hoped to achieve — more waves/curls, my focus on definition instead of volume. Also I wanted my hair cut a bit shorter and some layering to help curl difinition. I don’t like crunchy hair and never use hairspray. My hair tangles easily. Sharon was able to do all of that and I left Curl Evolution feeling wonderful — so very happy with my hair. When choosing a hair salon one should consider more than just the location, price and even previous reviews. The consumer should be educated on the services that the salon can provide and whether the stylist is well versed for your type of appt ie; hair cut, color, highlight, etc. We chose Curl Evolution based on previous recommendations left by current clients and scheduled a consult for a color correction. Initially the results weren't as we had expected, as our color correction was a difficult process and multiple visits were needed in order to achieve the desired results. The owner Allison stepped in and personally listened to our concerns. She took control of the matter without making any excuses to fix the problem. Ultimately, Allison treated us with dignity and respect all while ensuring that our color correction was completed properly with the integrity of our hair maintained. This is the ONLY salon I trust with my hair!! After a few bad experiences at regular salons in my younger years, I decided not to go to them anymore and took up cutting my own hair (shout-out to YouTube tutorials) though that only worked a couple of times before I realized I was constantly cutting too much and I cut off the amount that my hair grew. My hair grows slowly too so growing it out was tricky. I finally did some research into curly hair salons in the NYC/LI area and stumbled upon this place. I’ve been there three times already (over the course of a year) and the stylists are awesome— they trim my ends but not too much so that my hair can continue growing. Since last year it has grown so much and I’m so happy!! This time around, Julia was my stylist and I had such an awesome experience. She guided me through every step that she was taking, was super nice, and left me with beautiful curls. Will definitely be booking with her again.
