Blissful Baths & Home

I recently had an appointment with Blissful Baths, and while the gentleman who came to my home was an extremely nice gentleman, I was severely disappointed on a lot of frontsThe salesman, my wife and I did come up with a good plan, we were going to demo our tub and simply do a larger walk in shower. We chose some vinyl plank flooring that would replace our tile, ooked at the shower pan material and wall boards, and even though I wasnt thrilled because honestly the material simply looks like a cheap 1/8 vinyl sheet, we're not talking marble or granite, I figured it'll meet the function of what we want. I was told 4 days, 2 men, which to me is a very, very simple job if thats the timeframe being pegged. We finally get to talking numbers and what do I get, a quote for North of 50k. I pretty much chuckled and said it was absurd when he wrote it down, only to be told thats without discount. He applies " the discount", never even telling me what the discount is or was, and then the cost is just under 40k.I told him again, to me the cost seemed absurdly high. That cost was for demo (1 day) and a bit of framing, another day for a bit of drywall work, and 2 more days to do the flooring and build the shower. To me, 2 guys working for 4 days....okay even with overhead, let's say 8 to 10k for labor....so the other 30k is materials? When I questioned the salesman wanting to know how the material costs so much, asked about square foot prices for the sheets, etc, only to be told he didnt know. Not for nothing, the salesman's card said "Sales Manager".....to me, he better know every single cost of the square foot and inch. If he doesnt know what the material costs, how can he give me a quote? That quote didnt include the vanity, it was vinyl flooring which is cheap, a shower pan which was 72 x 48, and wall planks that I ended up finding online which were cheap, simply cut to size which is what they would do, and obviously new shower fixtures.I ended up getting some additional quotes, just for the sake of it, and while the most expensive quote came in at 35k, that was for everything from soup to nuts, expensive tile work, new tub ( wasnt quoted from Blissful) new custom shower, vanities ( which wasnt included in my quote from Blissful either) flooring, everything from start to finish. The other 2 quotes I received were half the cost of Blissful, from 2 other large bathroom remodeling companies, offering basically the IDENTICAL materials because they had the same color swatches for samples and the same scope of work.If it wasnt for the fact that the gentleman was very nice and that we had a great conversation during our time, I would give 1 star, but I really dont want to do that. Again two other very large and reputable companies, large overhead, quoted the same job, 3 to 4 days total, for not just the same job but they included more, for half the cost, and were very open and upfront with exactly what the material costs were and what they charged for labor.Perhaps their installers do great work, and I have seen some very nice photos online which is the entire reason I called, but I was given a carelessly inflated number and when questioned, was given zero good reasons for that inflated cost. Not to mention, what if I just said sure, let's go ahead! So I would've paid above 50k......only when I questioned the cost was i told, thats without your discount. So because I'm such a swell guy, more than 10k was taken right off?On a side note, I sent a follow up email from when the appointment was booked mentioning these same frustrations....no response, nothing. Tells me all I need to know unfortunately.
