We stayed locally at the vale of York for a week away, came to the ship inn multiple times the staff was brilliant, very helpful, and went above and beyond and made us feel welcome. The food was phenomenal out of this world couldn’t recommend this hidden gem enough

The Ship lnn is a traditional village pub. There's a good choice of draught drinks, including three cask conditions real ales. The ones I sampled were in excellent condition. There are TVs in the bar showing the spot. It's a nice cosy pub. I haven't tried the food, so I can't comment. The pub is dog friendly and listed in the camra good beer guide.

We stayed just down the road at Hoxne Cottages and stopped here for food as it recommended by a local in another pub that didn’t offer food. The food was delicious. The portions are large so sadly didn’t try a dessert. Staff were friendly and explained the fazed change in menu. There is an area for dogs if taking your pet along. We arrived just before 5pm when food service started and there was plenty of room but it filled very quickly.

We had a family meal 6.30 am Saturdy night seemed to be a new menu,The welcome we recieved and food and drinks were fantastic.The food was plping hot and all came together. The staff were very nice

Just been for Sunday lunch, can’t fault the food…delicious and plenty of it! However, let down by service! The staff were friendly and polite but slow, which in itself for us not a real problem but sadly we were forgotten about after finishing our main. We were never asked if all ok or if we would like a dessert or coffee! We waited with obvious empty glasses on the table with staff walking past and looking over but not once came over to enquire! My husband and son would have liked a dessert and we would have ordered tea and coffees, it is not up to the customer to get up and ask for this. After waiting some time we decided to go to the bar and pay and leave. Such a shame really. Maybe a conversation with staff to make sure this element of service is covered. We will come back tho as food is lovely and hopefully have a dessert and coffee next time should we be offered!?

Excellent food. Had steak night Thursday with 10oz steak and the trimmings, £25 for two people!
