Such an amazing experience! This was our first time rafting the Upper Pigeon River, and it exceeded our expectations. Check-in was quick and organized, and the safety instructions were very clear. Our guide, Paul, was fantastic. You could immediately tell he was experienced, confident, and made everyone feel comfortable while still keeping the trip exciting and fun.The rapids were the perfect mix of adventure and excitement without ever feeling unsafe. It was one of the highlights of our anniversary weekend.We also loved that professional action photos were available. While purchasing the photos is optional, we were so glad we did because they captured moments we never could have ourselves.We would absolutely come back and recommend River Rat to anyone looking for a fun adventure in the Smokies!

Was there with my family 8/1/26 1230pm lower, with RJ. Had a great tim!. RJ was knowledgeable about the area gave us great tips. Had some funny jokes. We shared a good one he can use on his next guest 😂. They are budget friendly as well. Will definitely come back!

We went rafting with Big Creek again!! Third year in a row. Ten ladies from Florida on a girls trip. We had to split up into two groups of 5. Our guides were Judd and Parrish. I was in the raft with Judd and he was outstanding. He gave us the best adventure. I highly recommend him as a guide. Parrish was our guide last year and he is awesome as well. I highly recommend Big Creek Expeditions to anyone looking for a memorable time!

We had such a blast whitewater rafting with Neta! She put our daughter up front to get the full effect! She was fun and easy to talk with. She guided us wonderfully down the river! The staff in the office were great as well. Very friendly and easy to work with. Thank you from the ease of making the reservation online to the trip down the river. Your staff is wonderful.
