10th Planet Jiu Jitsu i’ve been training there for about 4 months. Well, these guys sure know their stuff about BJJ and grappling, but they are also striking engineers which are the classes I mainly attend to.Great coaching relaxed and without ego, i feel like I’m sharpening my tools at every class. The atmosphere is neat and the facilities is spotless. I’m on a tight work schedule and there is classes at almost any hour everyday, so if I miss one day I can always make it up the next day. I’m having a great time over there.So if you’re looking for a well rounded mma gym in Birmingham that might be the one !Thank you.

I've trained at 10th Planet Bham for over a year now. Great training partners and great coaches. One thing you'll get here that you don't get at many other gyms is a lot of wrestlers -- the people you'll train with are absolute dogs and compete frequently, but if you're also looking for technical work and sharpening your leg entanglements, it's definitely here too. As of now, it is no-gi only, but gi may be making a return (tbd). You are not required to wear a school uniform to train here, and open mats feature even higher quality training partners. If you train jiu jitsu, make sure to stop by 10th Planet on your way through!

I have been training for a little over 9 years. 1.5 years in I moved back to Bham after finishing grad school and immediately dove in at another gym. Who signed me up after absolutely destroying my soul with triangles? Matt Elkins (honorable mention to Care Bear). He is absolutely a fantastic teacher and training partner. I have zero problems bowing to this sensei. He has opened this gym and proceeded to continue to build a culture of gentle, leg breaking, savage, choke holding neanderthals who are awesome to train with. Best day to start was yesterday but you might as well go for the second best and start today. Top gym in Bham.
