My 94 year old mother returned to her apartment in September 2024 after a fall and time in the hospital and in rehabilitation.    North River Home Care was recommended to us by a person we trusted.  Our experience with North River was excellent from start to finish.  Management was highly responsive, from our first call, and constantly monitored my mother's care.  The aides who were with my mother were all caring, and did a terrific job helping my mother maintain her dignity while assisting with necessary details of life.  My mother responded to this support and gradually grew stronger.  With time we were able to slowly reduce aides services from 24 hours daily to the point that no further assistance was required.  Over a month has passed since then and my mother continues to do very well.  This recovery was in great part the fruit of the caring help and gentle assistance North River provided to her, bringing her back to pretty much as she was and once again walking long distances (no not running but she never did).  .  We are all extremely happy with the support she received from North River for which we remain most grateful.

After our father had experienced multiple hospital stays, we wanted to avoid another rehab facility. We decided to move him back into his assisted living community with a 24hr caregiver. Jen Davis was compassionate and easy to work with. The caregivers were all wonderful, especially Cheryl and Dourina. We used NRHC for 3 weeks and highly recommend this team to other families looking for 24hr care.

The North River Team was excellent while dealing with my parents care. Our Care Advisor Mia met with us and went over all they can do and gave me frequent updates. The home aids were wonderful in dealing with my mother who can be difficult and helped my Dad run errands as well as with hygiene and self-care. When the time comes for more help with my parents home care we will definitely be contacting North River Home Care.

Our family is grateful to the staff at North River Home Care. We began working with the team in 2013 after our Dad suffered several strokes. The Hime health care team delivered excellent care as they worked with him to regain his strength. After my Dad dies we continued to work with North River. The staff suppprted my mother who had mobility and cardiac issues along with dementia. My mother was able to remain in an independent setting until 2022 thanks to the efforts of the in home care.In 2022, my mother moved to a nursing home. Our family decided to keep one of the North River Home Care providers. Mum would say, “you know, I don’t need Tracy and I love Tracy”. Tracy gave my Mum her professional skills and her humanity. My mother experienced Tracy as a dear friend. Tracy gave my Mum quality of life right to the end.We are so grateful to Jen Davis, the staff at North River Home Care and most of all to Tracy. I began using North River Home Care in 2021 after concluding a leave of absence from work to care for my elderly mother with dementia. North River was able to provide me with flexibility, and more than anything that peace of mind knowing that my mom would be well cared for. I got to know many of mom's aides quite well most especially Keyona who was with my mom quite frequently. Keyona always went above and beyond in caring for my mom. She was always prompt, so personable, and genuinely caring. My mom adored her. This is indicative of the high level of care North River provides to their clients. Everyone from Julia my mom's case manager to Colleen who answered the phone was always helpful and accommodating. Sadly my mom passed away on December 28, 2024 after a long courageous battle with dementia. I will always be grateful to all at North River who helped me to care for my mom and keep her at home happy and comfortable. I am forever grateful for their wonderful assistance in helping me do this. It is my honor to recommend them. Hiring North River Home Care came at a difficult time. My wife was dying and came home in hospice care. Having good and reliable Home Care assistance was essential to providing round the clock attendance at my wife's bedside. Julia Hawkins was North River's Client Service Manager. She was attentive and helpful describing how Home Care would work when we met in our living room. She was easy to reach by phone subsequently. My wife's home stay lasted two days. The North River Home Care team was here when my wife arrived from the hospital and there were three sequential aides with my wife at all times. My wife died the next day while Luisa, North River's Home Care aide, was caring for her. After the hospice nurse left Luisa provided the care my wife needed allowing my sons, her sister, and me time to sit and grieve together. Luisa was extraordinary. She was there but sensitive to our time and place at my wife's bedside. Luisa's experience and knowledge about care and dying were invaluable. After my wife had died and we had said our good byes Luisa prepared her for the undertakers and allowed us time to be with her for the last time. While our time with North River Home Care was very short, the care and service were necessary, important, and very helpful. I would recommend anyone looking for this kind of support to reach out to North River Home Care.

If our family could give 6 or 7 stars to North River Home Care, we would. From the first phone call to Jen Davis all the way through to the amazing, wonderful and caring staff right up the very end – we could not be more pleased. Our Dad was sent home from rehab with a recommendation to reach out to Jen for additional care at home and making that first call we were nervous. Jen put us right at ease and sent us so many angels to care for our Dad. He received care from NRHC for almost 2 years and everyone that took care of him gave him the most loving attention. The staff at NRHC became like part of the family and gave not just our mother peace of mind, but all of his children as well, not to mention they all laughed at his silly "dad jokes". We already miss seeing you all but wanted to express our sincere thanks from the bottom of our hearts. My Mom was in an assisted living facility for over 2 years and the additional care provided by the North River aides gave her comfort and definitely added to her quality of life. With the additional care provided, we were able to keep her close to family in assisted living instead of a nursing home. Sadly, she lost her battle with Parkinson's earlier this summer, but I rest at ease knowing she was comfortable and happy until the very end. The staff at North River Home Care was extremely helpful in assisting my mom as the caregiver of my dad in the last few months of her life. Knowing he'd do better with a male companion they worked their schedules to make that possible. My dad, who suffers with Alzheimer's, gets very anxious and they put him at ease immediately. Not sure where to start singing the praises of this company from the top down. Compassionate. Caring. Loving. Patient. And now, family. Jen Davis arranged the most capable team to take care of our mother for 12 mos. before she passed. Dourina, Liz, and Julie made mom's every day the best it could be. They kept her clean, cared for, and active. And mom had fun with them. They knew her quirks and mom learned theirs, too. It was such a great experience that allowed US to enjoy mom with and through them.
