Where to begin… I received news from previous landlords that my house was going to be tore down. My 2 children and I needed to look for a new place within 90 days. I immediately started the apartment hunt as I never thought buying a home would be an option for me. After many calls and scheduled viewings, Veterans United popped up. It was a site to see if approved for VA loan as I’m a Veteran. I applied and said I was pre-approved. I thought this can’t be legit. What is the catch. I instantly was contacted by Veterans United representative and then James (Jim) Lerman. A real estate agent. Again I thought he won’t be able to help me, but let’s see what he has to say. He walked me through the process of buying a home, told me to start looking at links he emailed me and let’s find your for now home. I had no knowledge of what buying a home entailed. Through rigorous searching, viewing and weighing pros and cons of which house to select, we found it! Jim and his wife helped me and my children find the perfect home for us! He was a great advocate for things I would never have know to ask for at closing. He was extremely patient with me and my changing my mind on various properties. I needed to make sure it met our needs as well as our pets needs. Buying a home is a big decision and it needed to work for us! He was there every step of the way. Clarified any questions I had and made me aware of things I didn’t know. All said and done, it took a little over 60 days to sign and get keys to our new home. Quicker than I thought it would be. We have found our forever home. I would highly recommend him for anyone thinking of buying either first time homeowner or your next home. Extremely professional, knowledgeable regarding market among other things and very personable. We are 100% happy with our new home. The whole experience was not overwhelming as I thought buying a home would be.
