Before making my final decision, I contacted eight different companies and provided the same information to each of them: 1,850 square feet of attic, existing cellulose insulation that has compressed over time and a start date between September 1st and October 30th.The eight companies were selected based on their proximity to our home and any existing online reviews and ratings. They set up the equipment using hoses, compressor, gas-powered generator and bales of pink fiberglass insulation and got straight to work.They started by finding and filling all gaps (large and small) with solid foam-board and expanding foam. Once all sources of heat loss were plugged, they then turned their attention to the actual fiberglass installation. They installed printed depth-rulers at various locations around the attic to ensure that the customer received exactly what they had paid for.They started at the far end of the house, using just a small headlamp to light their way, and slowly worked back towards the attic entrance.The three men arrived at 8:30 AM, plugged all holes, installed the insulation, finished cleaning the area and were off-site by 3:00 PM having worked through lunch.We all know that adding insulation to an attic is a "one-and-done" task that continues to pay benefits far into the future.If you are considering having this work done, I strongly recommend Groundhog Insulation Pros for your insulation needs.
