I am posting on behalf of a client that is too sick to post for herself at this point. She is too sick because of the neglect of care on behalf of Sunlight. They swore up and down that they would be more than capable to cover her care hours and required care. Instead, over the span of 3 weeks they sent her approx 16 different staff. Staff that were hired the same day and sent directly over without training or knowing what they were doing. Staff that had expectation of being only companion care when my client requires physical care including bathroom help. This was unfair to both my client and the staff as there was no communication about job skills or expectations. There were instances of staff wiping my client and putting the dirty wipes on the tv tray next to her chair. Staff didn't use gloves when performing bathroom care and then wouldn't wash their hands afterwards and directly go into making meals. Soiled wipes were found in the bathroom sink on multiple occasions. Staff left my client alone without food, water and sitting in her own urine and occasionally feces for up to 7 hours without staff showing up on repeated occasions. When my client brought these issues up with the company she was repeatedly told that she was a difficult client and too picky. Staff also never did required medical treatments that have now resulted in my client's medical condition worsening to a severe state. There are too many complaints over the longest 3 weeks with Sunlight to list here. I am so disappointed in this company. I work in this field and they talked a good game promising great care for my client and they didn't even try. They saw $$$ and that was it. If you care at all about your loved ones DO NOT CALL SUNLIGHT!! My last thoughts are for Sunlight themselves... Standards of care.... It's not a suggestion!!!*Edited to add...this is the correct company, I have personally met Nick when he came and told my client that Sunlight could meet all of her needs. She did contact him, often.
