Rob submitted photos and paperwork to my insurance company to convince them to replace the roof in full - he was responsive and helpful throughout the process. Their foreman and workers were professional and efficient and did a good job, including cleanup - some minor siding damage which occurred during the roof replacement was repaired at no additional cost. Les Jones repaired the slate tile roof on our 1929 year house in South Minneapolis. There are only a few companies in the area that work on slate tile roofs.They provided an estimate of about 2 days of work; and they called us a day before they were coming to help us know the work would be started the following day. They completed work over two days (with a 2 man crew). We then were told the repairs were completed. When we had a chance to inspect with our drone, we found that about half of the roof was not even repaired. We provided the video as evidence that there was still work that needed to be completed. They were able to come out a week later to finish the job over 1 day. Under many of the tiles, they installed copper plates instead of installing new slate tiles. The copper will patina over time and blend in with the roof but we were very surprised to see the copper. Our three star review mostly comes from that our repair was well over the budgeted estimate (as it was a time and materials contract) and the fact that we had to inspect the roof with our drone to find that there was work that was not completed. The work was on a garage hip roof. It required all the 1926 Spanish tile to be lifted, some failed decking replaced, PSU-30 ice/water shield over the entire roof and all the tile relaid. The 3-4 man team completed the work on time and on budget. The team was knowledgeable, quality driven, aesthetically determined and thorough from start through cleanup. This is specialized work and there are only a few companies in the Twin Cities with the skill to do this well. From start to finish, Les Jones performed the work with care and quality. The job required extensive scaffolding, and the team took the time to make sure the landscaping around the house was well protected. The workmanship is evident - from the gutter and downspout sections that were soldered on site, to the custom bowtie straps the Les Jones sheet metal shop fabricated for the downspouts. I have a colonial style home in the Como Park neighborhood in St Paul. The veranda over the front entryway needed the roofing surface replaced. The curvature of this surface created a special challenge. Les Jones did a remarkable job of presenting different metal and seaming options. The choice was made for 20 oz copper with standing seams. I had a great experience from start to finish. The quote beat the other companies in town who can handle a tile roof by 20-30% (2 other quotes received). Job was started on time and completed quickly in part thanks to good weather. Crew was friendly and professional. Old tiles were stacked so nothing was broken (see pics). Lee Jones Roofing is currently replacing all the townhouse in our HOA (and as such I had no say in the selection of roofing company). That being said if I ever personally had to select a roofing company I would NEVER EVER pick Lee Jones Roofing. There were so many things wrong with this company. The workers themselves are disrespectful to the occupants of the homes and to the actual property itself. When the workers were redoing the roof on our townhouse, my husband came home from work and as he was walking to the front door of HIS HOME the workers yelled at him "Hey, what are you doing??" in a very rude and disrespectful tone. And as they are working on the roof, they leave a GIANT mess everywhere and I had to watch where I was stepping so as not to step on the DOZENS of nails that were littered all over my sidewalk and property. And when the workers were "done" for the day they would leave shingles and nails everywhere on my property. They are currently working on a town home two doors down and I still have shingles, nails and bags littered around my property. It also takes this company more than 1 day to complete a small town home roof, I can't even imagine how long it would take them to redo a roof on a regular sized house. Long story short, no matter the cheap deal you might get, this company is AWFUL. KEEP LOOKING. Less

Les Jones put a new cedar shake roof on our home in Edina in 2014. The sales person, the project coordinator and the installation crew did a great job. I would give them a five star rating if they had done a better job cleaning up the job site. There does not seem to be a day, even 11 months later, I do not remove a piece of construction debris from my yard. That being said they were consummate professionals from start to finish and the finished project certainly meets out expectations and looks great.. Less
