As a novice in climbing and in hiking in more challenging mountainous environments, I searched online for guides who could safely lead the outing. From the very first contact on Facebook, I was impressed by the team’s professionalism: responsiveness, clarity, attentiveness and accessibility were clearly their priorities. On the day of the outing, we finally had the pleasure of meeting Nitesh, the perfect guide 😅: - Great listener - Very smart in putting together a group of hikers with similar fitness and experience levels, creating great cohesion within the group - Highly professional - Excellent knowledge of the area, safety procedures, and all the variables related to weather and mountain conditions - Exceptionally friendly and approachable - Extremely professional equipment, not only for climbing but also for photography and video, including a drone - And above all: safety always comes first Nitesh was not just a guide, but also a friend, sometimes even a psychologist (to calm down the more frightened among us 😅), and a professional photographer and cameraman, giving us great advice on shots and angles to capture some truly amazing views. An absolute top-tier guide for climbing Pieter Both! I did this climb together with my 10-year-old son, Mike, and we could not have wished for a better experience. ​From start to finish, we felt 100% safe. He takes rope safety and belaying very seriously, works with great calm and precision, and clearly knows the mountain inside out. Whenever we got stuck on a technical section, he knew exactly where to place every foot and handhold. ​What stood out most was his incredible patience and positive encouragement toward Mike. Mike took an immediate liking to him. Even on the descent when the hike got tough, he stayed patient, supportive, and guided him down safely with complete confidence. ​A truly skilled, professional, and friendly guide who knows exactly what he is doing. What an amazing experience climbing up Pieter Both! Not for the faint hearted or those who are not fit as it’s an extreme climb! Nites was always a gentleman guiding us up and up and up! I highly recommend Nitish as a hiking guide in Mauritius. We climbed Le Morne this morning and the experience was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. He made me feel safe and secure throughout the entire hike, especially during some of the more daunting climbs both going up and coming down. He is clearly very experienced, calm under pressure, and excellent at guiding people through challenging sections with confidence and patience. What really stood out to me was his people skills and communication. He is warm, reassuring, and takes the time to explain things properly rather than rushing you. Along the way, he also stopped to teach us about the local flora and fauna and their significance within Mauritian culture, which added so much depth to the experience. This was far more than just a hike. It was an experience. I will definitely be using Nitish again as we explore and climb more mountains around Mauritius.
