A tutor MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE and, the proof is in the pudding as the expression goes. While it sounds like boasting, I really want to stress that sending my son to Cary School of Music can truly make all of the difference. My son took Trumpet lessons here under Mike Mole from 7th grade to his senior year in high school. Believe me, it made all of the difference. My son with Mike's direction and his own dedication was one of the most successful student Trumpet players in NC.He really took off after starting lessons with Mike. over a 6 year period, my son made all county band, made all district 5 years in a row first chair his senior year, all-state band 3 years in a row with 1st chair also his senior year. letter of distinction from UNCG camp instructors each year in attendance, Superior ratings by the NCMEA in individual solo performance, 1st individual high brass technical performance place 2 years in a row at the NABBA Championships as well as 1st and 2nd place youth ensemble in those years. Awarded school letter and pins, outstanding Director's Award for Outstanding Achievement, Outstanding achievement in Jazz Band, and the John Philip Sousa Band Award and Scholarship.Today my son is at NCSU, plays 1st trumpet in the marching band as well as in the solo ensemble on the field. He is also 1st chair in the NCSU Wind Ensemble. He has been awarded a music scholarship and plans to minor in music.Mike was a wonderful instructor and really challenged Owen in all the right ways, and "challenge" was the key. We knew after his very first recital at Cary School of Music, he was in the best place for his development, and it surely paid off. I highly recommend this school and instructor if you have an aspiring Trumpet player.
