Drove over 7 hours to make this trip. I would do it again in a heartbeat and actually plan to do just that sometime in the future. I had never fished for trout before and had no idea how hard they hit and how hard they fight. They are a beautiful fish. I actually think the Brown is prettier than the Rainbow. River Run Angling made this the perfect trip. Taylor was our guide. He knows his stuff. He knew when to fish back through and when it was better to just move on down river. Just a good guy all around. It was a pleasure to get to know him. If you're not from that area, the trip is worth making just for the ride down the river and the beautiful scenery. And I had never seen the type boat we used. They call them drift boats or dory's. I can tell you that it is extremely comfortable and the way the boat is made, It would be pretty hard to fall out of standing up. There are leg supports that you slip your legs into when you're standing. I know it sounds awkward but it is actually one of the coolest things I've seen on a boat. If you're on the fence about doing this trip, do it! And do it with River Run Angling. You won't be sorry.-------------------------------------------------------------------------05/06/26Just made another trip. Made this trip with my brother. Taylor did a great job once again and we made some great memories. Caught a lot of fish and a couple big'uns! Once again I highly recommend this outfitter. Taylor goes out of his way to make the trip as good as it can possibly be. My brother already has another trip booked with Taylor for him and his daughter. I will definitely be coming back. Taylor also does Small mouth trips. I may do that next time. Hard choice. Those big browns are beautiful...------------------------------------10/23/26Went back after some fall trophies. Taylor and S.F. Holston River did not disappoint. There is never a guarantee that the fish will bite but Taylor goes above and beyond. We had what is probably a once in a lifetime trip catching four trophies!

This was an experience of a lifetime! Taylor was an awesome guide. I had zero experience going into it, and we left so excited from all we learned and how many beautiful fish we caught. Thank you River Run Angling!

Had a great morning on the river catching brown and rainbow trout! Taylor's instruction was great and he catered the trip to what was biting and to the fishing technique that my son was most interested in.

My buddy and I really enjoyed our two guided trips with Taylor. We did one trout outing and one smallmouth outing. The trout outing was fantastic (hooked three big trout, landed one) and so was the smallmouth trip. Both trips were made even better because of Taylor being our guide. Just a fun guy to be on a boat with, and he knows his stuff! Highly recommended!
