Love this neighborhood gem. It never disappoints. Was even surprised with live music at our last visit!

Great location on Upper Union St. The food was delicious and the service excellent. The only suggestion would be to offer regular sized table and chairs along side the high top table/chair. There is no provision for that now. This would accommodate the elderly and disabled and those who prefer regular height seating and bring in even more patrons.

Great new spot! I sat at the bar. Plenty of seating. Very well decorated. Contemporary decor. Great service, and food. Large portions as well. Will return!

By far, the best Mexican restaurant around. Large portions, fast service, clean surroundings, and authentic Mexican cuisine.

Very delicious food.Had the Birria chimichangas with the Consume, and some Shrimps cooked with Onions and Garlic. Would definitely come back. The staff was kind an attentive. The restaurant looks beautiful and has a great vibe. It's a place where you can come have a drink and a snack.

Update to add we have since been multiple times with a great experience every time. Their tacos are some of my favorite around and the staff is so friendly.Original Review:Tacos and Margaritas is an authentic, family-owned taqueria right here on Union Street in Schenectady.Everything is made in-house, from their fresh tortillas down to the margarita sour mix. They also have an open kitchen concept, so you can see your food being made from start to finish! If you visited during their first few weeks and noticed a grab-and-go layout, they have officially transitioned into a full-service, sit down vibe. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the owner’s passion for authentic food really shows. The tacos were honestly really good but can’t be compared to any of my usual favorite spots, because these were just different in the best way. The rice and beans were really flavorful and the margaritas were made perfectly.I highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t already and if you went when they first opened, go check them out again now that they’ve transitioned to sit down.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Service is friendly. It's really well priced by today's standards. Happy hour is solid. I eat dinner here at least once a week.

Great environment and awesome service

I’m not sure if they read/respond to reviews, but this place would be 5 stars if there was some way to get it delivered, or at the very least have an online pickup system. I do not have time to eat in but would love to order if they had the option to. I’m sure others feel the same way. I hope they consider DoorDash or an alternative.

Great place for some food or a drink or both. The staff is so friendly and I haven’t had anything on the menu yet I don’t like. Thank you Jeleah for making me the best margarita I’ve had in Schenectady

My wife and I had an amazing experience! We ordered six tacos and two alcoholic beverages, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. The drinks were great, and the food exceeded our expectations.A special shoutout to our waitress, Jay, who made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being overbearing. Her excellent service really stood out and made us feel welcome from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant. Great food, great drinks, and even better service!

Had an amazing dinner experience here. Walked right in to the open garage door and sat at the bar with a friendly smiling staff. The food was absolutely diabolically good. We had margaritas and they were perfectly balanced. This place is 10/10, will absolutely be making this a frequent staple

Great new spot on Union Street. As a very trendy New York City type vibe. The quality of food is top notch for Mexican. They're currently in a soft opening with a limited menu. The atmosphere is awesome. The service was quick and everyone was friendly. We will definitely be back even if it is just for drinks due to the vibe.

Such a fun new spot on Union st. Colorful, lively and delicious food. I’m always a fan of an open kitchen concept. Lots of variety for street tacos including cactus!! It tasted like green pepper. The server was very attentive and friendly. The owner came around to check in. He’s very passionate about bringing an authentic taqueria to the capital region.

I know Luis personally and I will say the same thing I told him. I Love Mexican, but I usually don’t eat it around here until now! The food is just that good. This place is the real thing, fantastic Mexican food. The service and the atmosphere are great!! Give Tacos and Margaritas a try you will not be sorry.

My boyfriend and I just left about 5 minutes ago. And this place was very good! Everything came out within a fair amount of time (quick, but you know not TOO quick) and we sat at the bar. It was not very busy when we came in so we enjoyed the atmosphere. Jaleah served us at the bar and she was amazing! I got the spicy pina margarita and I swear she put her heart and soul into it. Chips and quest were good, tacos were amazing and VERY filling. We also shared the birria fries which had a very generous amount of protein on it. Again Jaleah was very attentive and a total sweetheart! We will absolutely be back.

Liked the vibe! We ordered Tequila Sunrise which was amazing. For food, we had called for Chicken fries, wings, and tacos. The fries were really good and portion was generous. Tacos were good too but wings were average. Barbeque sauce was on the wings was too sweet. But we had a good time and the staff was really friendly.

Other than it being really hot in there we enjoyed it. Food was great, drinks were amazing, staff was nice. Affordable prices as well.

I am an al pastor fanatic but usually quite disappointed. These were the best al pastor tacos I have had north of Houston. Deliciously caramelized on the crisp outside of the pork pieces.Basically, that's a guaranteed five stars from me, despite the fact that chips and salsa cost $5 (they did refill free), service with the new restaurant buzz and new employees was a bit chaotic (but friendly), and any other factors that might have soured my attitude. It was a pleasant evening, and I also loved that the big garage-door-style front entrance was wide open, bringing the beautiful evening into the restaurant and no doubt adding a much-needed festive touch to Upper Union Street.

Delicious tacos, amazing mojitos, and excellent service. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

Great place for a casual dinner with great vibes. Live music on the weekend and everything made in house. Great margaritas too! Desserts were perfection!
