The Gracie Jiu Jitsu Combatives course (Gracie Jiu Jitsu Portland OR location) is amazing and falls in line with what I've been seeking! Jordan does an outstanding job instructoring and keeps the class engaged. Safety is paramount and there are no egos. Everyone works together in good spirit and self control. I feel very welcome here. I feel lucky that Gracie ended up being the first jiu jitsu gym I joined. The beginner class is full of welcoming people who actually want to help you learn. Nobody’s trying to go too hard or prove anything.. It’s all about improving in a safe, supportive environment.Jordan is an outstanding teacher. He keeps the class engaging and really pays attention to each student. Even though I’m still relatively new to the Gracie Combatives program, I already feel like I’ve learned a ton about self-defense and the fundamentals of Gracie jiu jitsu.

The adult beginner class absolutely ROCKS. I'm getting many classes a week at convenient times for a fair price. The 10 day free trial was legit!The instructor Jordan is a very good teacher and cares a lot about safety. On top of that, the program is certified and the app that tracks scheduling and class curriculum is linked which is very nice. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to improve their life!

I’ve been attending the adult combatives class for about a month now, and I cannot say enough about how positive my experience has been! I’ve tried multiple jiu jitsu schools over the years and none have compared to the warm, welcoming, accepting environment that I’ve had with Gracie Jiu Jitsu Portland.Jordan, Ben, & Kara have been amazing instructors and all of the other students/members welcomed me with open arms. Their teaching style, structured curriculum, and overall positive and friendly environment have made this experience so awesome. I look forward to class every week & hope to be training here for years to come!If you’re on the fence, do it! You won’t regret it! 😊🥋💪

I am really, really loving my experience here at Gracie 💖🥹 I’ve never ever done something like this (self-defense/martial arts) and was at first super intimidated but Jordan and the teaching crew are really welcoming and so are the students here.They do have women empowerment classes but they don’t fit in my schedule, so I’ve been doing the Gracie Combatives classes, and I can say 100% that I feel safe and comfortable in class. It’s such a fun learning environment and even though I’ve been going for about a month and a half now, I feel like I’ve learned so much.It’s so cool to see others that started semi-recently and watch how skilled they’ve become and to know that one day that could (and will, if you stick with it) be you. I’m appreciative that Gracie Jiu Jitsu really breaks things down for you to help you learn and eventually improve the skills that you’ve gained. I can’t wait to see how far I grow as I keep coming back <3 I hope to see you on the mat as you start your Jiu Jitsu journey! There’s a lot to learn and this is a fabulous place to start.

while staying in Portland trained here after visiting SBG and there could be 2 bigger differences between the places. we were welcomed and our Karate experience embraced and praised and the level of care and instruction was exception, we have been back many times as work in Portland a lot from UK and each time it is a wonderful NO EGO experience. I have never heard a bad word said about a student or another system from anyone there they truly have a 'live and let live' ethos UNLIKE SBG.

Our 10 year old daughter has been taking classes here for about 6 months or so and we absolutely love it. She looks forward to going every week. Jordan & Ben do a PHENOMENAL job keeping the kids wrangled & engaged during class and steering every interaction into a teaching moment, even if the kids start getting rambunctious. They practice alot on actual breaks and holds that can be useful in real life situations and teach the importance of de-escalation strategies before responding with any measure of force. But then teach practical self defense skills when physical confrontation is unavoidable. Jordan & Ben are great with the kids, very patient and do an excellent job making sure the classes are always fun for them. We have tried a few other martial arts styles/programs and this one has been hands down our favorite for our kiddo.
