This dentist office was a great experience. I am new to the Hockley area and they made this transition to a new dentist easy and smooth. I came in a little earlier for an 11 o clock appointment and did have to wait a little past my appointment time to get services but in their defense it was a busy day in the office. When I arrived it was at least two people in front of me. One which was called back before me but my time was still honored because I was seen before the other woman that was in line before me (whom I assume was a walk-in).Once in the back I did have to take my initial xray for my mouth twice because the machine didn’t provide a clear enough image. The technician did not make me do it three times even though I knew she didn’t have a clear xray even which I verified by her showing me the xray. She told me they would probably do individual X-rays with the doctor, in which they did. The procedure was not tiring or a burden at all.I’m being completely honest with this, review because it was a laughable moment for me. Once my x-rays were all taken, and the images were displayed on the TV in front of me, it showed missing teeth, so I checked my mouth and the assistant behind me noticed that they weren’t my x-rays at the same time as I read the patient’s name. She apologized, and we laughed about it and moved on. We are all human and make mistakes. While I was getting my cleaning, the dentist was very professional and made me feel welcomed and took his time doing his job very well. We talked about my home state Florida and he became very personal by telling me about his family, which allowed me to know him better.It made me open up more about him and tell him about my profession. I was allowed to set a future appointment for my next cleaning, and I was provided with all of the future dental work that I need to be completed, which was reasonably priced. I am definitely referring my wife to this dentist and dental office and they will definitely see me again in the near future.Lastly, I appreciate the location as it is like roughly 10 minutes away from my house. We had a great experience with Dr. Bessey during my kids recent dental checkups. He was professional, kind, and made both of my kids feel completely at ease. I really appreciated how he spoke directly to them, explained everything clearly, and treated them with respect—which goes a long way with teens. I have such bad dental anxiety, which resulted in me putting aside major dental work that was needed. Dr. Bessey came recommended to me by a loved one, which put me a bit at ease. The first appointment was a general appointment, x-rays and such. I had tons of questions and was provided with informative answers and reassurance from Dr. Bessey and his staff. A week after that appointment, I had a root canal and wisdom tooth removal. Super anxious, they listened to any concerns I had and met me with patience and understanding. I had been dealing with a bad tooth crack on my molar since back in November. I had gotten sick multiple times and could tell it had something to do with my tooth. I reached out to Dr. Bessey directly on a Saturday, and he was extremely accommodating. He got me an emergency slot on that Monday. His staff from the desk to the dental assistants were extremely caring and moved quickly to take care of me as a brand new patient.After x-rays and exam, Dr. Bessey clearly explained all that’s been going on with the tooth. It had become infected to the point of needing an extraction. He laid out all my options, and helped me come to a decision to remove it that day.He even did a preventative cleaning for me before the procedure. Once the numbing settled in, he quickly removed the tooth and prescribed antibiotics to help me fight off the rest of the infection left.As someone who’s not a fan of visiting the dentist, this experienced helped me feel comfortable enough to trust Dr. Bessey with my dental care moving forward. Dr. Bessey is amazing! He is very helpful and informative on every detail about the procedure being done. He is patient and kind, also very attentive, checking on his patients. He makes sure you are feeling comfortable & also made sure to ask about any allergies i have beforehand. I originally saw Dr. Gonzales (Dr. G) at Waller Dental after having to leave my prior dentist of 40 years. I have not once been disappointed in my choice of Dr. G becoming my new dentist. I have been going to him for several years now and feel I have cultivated a wonderful patient/doctor relationship.When I was told Dr. G was no longer at Waller Dental and they could not divulge his whereabouts I immediately started tracking him down. Going to church on Sundays my husband and I saw the new establishment Hockley Dental, so I called and was elated to hear that Dr. G and Dr. Bessey opened their practice. I was ecstatic when my new insurance as of January 1. 2025 would be taken and I could continue my dental needs with Dr. G.I went for my semi-annual check-up and had a delightful catchup visit with him. He shared photos of his precious baby and beautiful wife. He’s a wonderful testament of a family man, as well as a professional.Their staff is professional, courteous, and caring. I met McKayla, who assisted with my check-in needs over several telephone calls.She went over and above making sure I would be fully checked in at the time of my appointment. I want to start this review by saying that I am a very anxious mother. Anything to do with my children automatically has me on high alert and very critical of the provider. That being said, I have never in 17yrs of being a parent had a higher level of confidence in the care my children received in a medical setting than I did today. Dr. Bessey and his assistants handled my 10yo daughters 3 baby extractions with a level of confidence, professionalism, and care that I’ve never seen before- all within literal minutes to top it off. We were back home with a completely comfortable and happy kiddo 30min after our appointment time started. We will never see another dentist. I couldn’t possibly recommend them enough, especially for children as well as their mothers who may worry a little too much. 10/10 impressed. Less
